I'm obviously new at this still. I'm not sure where to post this so please move if it needs to be.

I know it's still 2 months away, but how do you handle Thanksgiving when the rest of your family is SAD? I will eat before I go anywhere but I'm thinking I could contribute a few RAW plates for other's to try. So I can also have a snack or something to munch on. The holidays are coming up fast and I want to make sure that I stay on the right path.

Early ideas and planning are how I do these things. :D

That is SUCH an overwhelming thought...I don't even want to think about it, LOL!!;)

There are ALOT of threads on Thanksgiving. Very delish meals.

I want to try the pumpkin pie.

The pecan pie is SO wonderfully rich.

Does anyone have a recipie for the sad version of "Green Bean Casserole", pretty please??

Hey, Stacy, if you commit to eating all raw on Thanksgiving, so will I. My SIL can deal with it. ;)

We could both plan to contribute raw desserts and a giant gourmet salad. Then we could eat well and not have to succumb to cooked food.

Since its just the two of us, there really isnt anything to do. :). I'm thinking of trying 1-2 new recipes for us and thats it. If we get invited to a potluck, Ill make and bring 1-2 things including a raw pumpkin pie to take with us.

My family gets very insulted if people don't eat what they serve. It's ridiculous. One member of my family is a total quack "holistic" practicioner (yes I know there are good ones. This one is not) who refuses to eat half the stuff my parents make but freaks out if you don't eat his food. I'm getting mad thinking about it. I'll have to bring my own food and listen to their catty remarks the whole day

YAY! :p I've never brought food to any of the family functions. Everything has always been taken care of. But I guess I should start since I"m the eldest daughter, niece, and grandaughter. I'll make the dressing and the salad, wait till their are done and let them know that it was all raw. :)
now I can't wait!

-I go where my loved ones are....and I buy extra fruit for them....and then I eat what I want. What they eat is up to them - and I support them 100%

The last two years I brought a raw "stuffing" a lovely salad, two desserts and some snacks for the kiddos. It's been fine.

David, loved your reply. Thankgiving can be about more than food. Just share being with your family and think of all the wonderful moments you have had this year and make the food secondary. Eat what is right for you and let them eat what is right for them.
