Greetings from Hungary!

We are brand new on this life style, we started raw two weeks ago. We were on vegetarian since 17 years and vegan since 6 years. Illnesses made us try to find new way(my daughter has 1st type diabetes, my wife gum disease, hair fall) and here it is!! we found RAW.
GREAT!!
But here in Hungary live on this life style is very difficult. We are light years behind you. There is no receipes ( we are translating from US raw sides and try to make them. A lot of raw material is unavailable. And also the equipments (dehydrator, mixer) are very expensive. We need a temporary sollution while we have enough money to buy these equipments.
I would have a big request:
You have a lot of friend, contacts. Could you find somebody who planed to buy new dehydrator or mixer or cange into an other type and could send us the old (but good) machines. It would be a great help for our family, because if we can't purchase at least dehydrator we have to stop raw what could be awful for us!!!
I think We could pay postfee, maybe..

Thank you in advance.

I'm waiting for your answer and help.

Hi Vilmos, and welcome to RFT! You really do not need a dehydrator to maintain a raw lifestyle. Out of all my appliances, I get the most use out of my fp and blender. Alissa's book has a lot of quick, easy, and satiating recipes that do not require one. You can also find a lot here on the board. Wishing you and your family much success on your raw journey ~ Cathy

Hi Vilmos,

I agree with Cathy. A food processor and blender would serve you and your family way better than a dehydrator. I rarely use mine. I would say I use my blender (Vita Mix) first and foremost and my food processor second. For you, new to this, I would suggest the food processor first although, I know many people who started raw and used a knife only and still ate raw.

How's your produce supply there?

Thank you for all the answers, these make us free from the equipment, but you know we have 3 children, so we have to be wise that they could eat more and more raw, thats why we thought to buy dehydrator too, to make our meals more tasty, varied. And also my boy and me ate a lot of bread, (Made them myself from whole wheat, we have an elecric millstone and grinded grains ) that's why I think we need transition time.
Thanx again
William
