...or is it seven lol?

anyways, my body and I are on better terms atm which is AWSOME! I had a question and was hoping some one could relate their experience, currently I am fairly tired, sore, grumpy, etc. All that i figure is probably detoxing, but what I am concerned about is how weak I feel.....its odd and slightly reminiscent of mono....

any advice would be wonderful! thank you!

Congrats on your six (or is it seven?) days raw! :D

It "could"...COULD be detox or it "could"...COULD be a retracing. If you had mono in the past and were treated for it with meds, sometimes we retrace things that we had in the past and took meds for because we never really CURED the condition(s) but rather, masked them...masked the symptoms. Sometimes cleaning up one's diet will cause the body to "retrace" the symptoms/condition so it can TRULY heal and deal with it. Like I have said before, it's like eating raw foods and eliminating/cutting back on cooked foods, takes off the "bandaid" that we have had on so many things for so many years and exposes the "wound(s)" so it can properly heal it/them.

I remember before raw I used to suffer from chronic vaginal yeast infections and I'd always use the Monostat, etc. "treatments". When I went raw, a week or so into it, I had a MASSIVE yeast infection. It came, then it went...never to return (unless I ate cooked food then I'd get traces of yeast infection symptoms). So, that's just another example of retracing past ailments. I've heard of people getting ear infections after going raw too...people who had gotten them in the past and had them treated with amoxicillin, etc.

But again, it really could just be detoxification and your body making adjustments or doing some inner healing causing the fatigue and feelings of weakness...it's probable.

Yes, I agree with Rawk. You can also check out Alissa's thread on detox in the "Need to Know More About Raw" forum. BTW, congrats on day 6/7!!! ~ Cathy

That's awesome!

I believe in taking the time to just rest if you feel tired, let your body do its work. Hopefully your schedule will allow this. Get plenty of fluids and relax.

Cheers!

Well give it some time and you will start feeling much better. Maybe you could make a green smoothie in your blender. They will get you there faster. Plus there really good too. Welcome to raw your doing great. Doug in Calif.....  :)

thank you!

I had mono, but I was not treated for it with any drugs(although i have heard you never really get rid of it). However I did go through a SERIOUS amoxicillin regiment when I had lyme 10 years ago. And there have been other medications over the years that I took per my doctors which I now feel and my current doc agrees where unnecessary :(

to think what has been done to my body......

what I am worried about as well is what I take now for my asthma.....I know asthma can be food related, but if I go off my medicine....I could relapse bad....

it truly is hard to say, but thank you sooo much for the advice all! :D

Yeah I am retracing right now. POISON OAK. I had it a few months ago and tooks meds for it because it got in my blood. Well ALL NIGHT last night I was itching, but I knew what was going on and I didn't want any meds on me or in me. I am much better today and most of the rashes are started to go away now.

Ok this retracing thing is terrifying me. I have been on meds for sleep disorder, panic disorder and ovarian cysts. Am I in for a very bad time when I'm finally off these meds?

Rawk, it's interesting what you say because I've noticed that a terrible rash I used to have a few years back around my thighs came back about the time when I started raw (3 weeks ago) with a vengeance. I can totally see it as retracing, since previous attempts to go raw (which never last more than a week) didn't get these results.

I wonder if retracing can happen with emotional stuff too. I suffered for years from high anxiety (though never took meds for it) and I got it under control but the past few weeks it has also seemed really heightened. I'm guessing part of that is detox, though.
