Hi my name is Jayson but most people know me as ‘Vegan’ Bear. I live in London with my partner and work in a bookstore as an assistant manager.
I have come to Raw Veganisum through a very long realisation that my health and wellbeing is dependent on me and me alone. I have been living with M.E (also known as chronic fatigue syndrome) for about two and a half years now.
At first I changed my diet to a Vegan one from a full on ‘Standard British Diet’ (I think this is very much like a S.A.D with a little less meat).
The change was one of the biggest I had ever done but with a lot of peoples support the transition was a lot easier than it has been for some of the people I know. Part of my transition was to write a blog about my health and being Vegan (www.veganbear.blogspot.com) it was a way I could share my thoughts and feelings as well as the recipes and snacks I had created.
After almost two years I started to feel like something was missing. I had heard of people who didn’t cook food and who felt healthier and lived a happier life, so I started to by books and the transformation began.
I have been 95% raw for two months and live in a house that has turned into a Raw Mecca; my oven has been replaced with a Excalibur Dehydrator and my pots and pans replaced by a brand new Vita-Mix.
Again I have written my transformation into Raw Veganisum on my blog and I think this has helped. Writing recipes and talking about what I have eaten is the way I want to go. Raw is for me 100% and I’m looking forward to posting some nice treats on here too..
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
