Hello Everyone,

I already have Allissa's book.

If you were going to purchase another book for raw recipes, especially ones with green smoothies, which would you choose? Or recommend?

I want to purchase another book for recipes, but i'm not sure which one would be the most helpful. I thought I'd tap in to the wisdom here. :D

Here is what i'm looking for:
Practical but tasty recipes
Simple
Green smoothies

Ok, which ever book is recommended the most...that will be my winner!!

Thanks for your input. I'm a book person, but I have to be careful...too many books and not enough shelves.

I don't have it (YET...just ordered it), but have heard nothing but good reviews about Ani Phyo's book, Ani's Raw Food Kitchen (or something like that).

Also, Green for Life by Victoria Boutenko for the green smoothies - it has lots of info about them as well as recipes/combinations (both sweet and savory). And I know Revvell has a Smoothies and Smoozies (I think that's what it's called) book/ebook on her site.

Go to your nearest bookstore (Borders, if you have it) and see if they have Rawvolution, by Matt Amsden. Take a look at the pictures and some of the recipe ingredients to see if that is what you like. I recently purchased this and I love it! I do not use the Nama Shoyu in it, (Braggs instead) since I cannot eat wheat. But everything is delicious. I also back down on the garlic, etc. Just experiment with what your taste buds are. Anyway...it has pictures in it (which is something I like in a 'cook' book). And, if you do not like what you see you can opt not to buy it. See if they have any other raw books there that strike your interest too.

Good luck.

I have both Alissa's & Ani Phyo's books & love them both! The recipies in Ani's book are yummy, simple & pretty quick. Most of them don't require a dehydrator, either. :)

Ani Phyo's Raw Food Kitchen. AMAZING!! Not too many green smoothie recipes, but a great one that is dehydrator free for the most part.

I've also just finished Victoria Boutenko's revised version of 12 Steps to Raw Foods and it is just amazing! Not too many recipes but a great read!

I have a lot of raw books and Rawvolution has the best recipes I've tried so far. I don't know about the green smoothies since I've been focusing on the non-smoothie/drink recipes.
