I need to lose at least 30#, should I be concerned with eating too much fruit and nuts? So far today this is what I have consumed:

green smoothie-kale, apple, water, 1 small banana, a little agave (I did not like the kale...)

2T of sunflower seeds mixed with 2 T carob (approx)

'taco meat' 1/8 cup sprinkled with about 1T nutritional yeast wrapped in romaine with 1/2 a green pepper on the side

2 cups watermelon

1/2 T almond butter

Is this bad??

Absolutly not!!! Thats really not much food at all!

Listen to your body, it will tell you what it needs and when you are hungry. Remember that this way of eating should be a lifestyle change, so enjoy what you eat and dont worry about it. Our body knows best!

Thank you. I am trying to let go of all the 'dieting' rules, suggestions, fad interpretations that have been drilled into my head for the last 25 years. I had pretty much given up on eating any kind of nut because they are so fattening, same with fruit. My old way of thinking kept telling me that is way too much fat and fruit. I really could live off fruit, nuts, and a little homemade bread and be perfectly happy. I am not doing this as a 'diet', I just really want to feel better, I know that weight loss will be a perk.

Incidentally, I have been having a lot of brain fog the last week. I am not really tired, but in a weird way I am... Could this be part of transitioning from my SAD way of life to raw? I also feel like I am having allergies today, that kind of brain fog.

Thanks for any input!

My dear, if you want to lose that 30lbs, you're going to have to eat more Food.

Seriously

And you need to develop a program primarily of strength trainining, so you can retain muscle (and nix loose ski
n)

Good luck.

Carla.

Carla no one (I mean people I know) wants to believe me that strength training is the key to weight loss. People want to do endless cardio which has been proven not to work significantly with fat loss. I'm glad you agree!!

it is the key- I could give you endless stories of my clients who tried to shed weight on their own with no exercise or too much cardio and no resistance training. (fyi, Im a personal fitness trainer and nutritionist)

I have a lot of muscle, I groom dogs, not a pansy job !!! lol

I do not do any extra strength training because i do not want to build anymore muscle and what I have really is toned, i carry the majority of my weight in my trunk, lol. I am build similar to scarlett johansen, but not hot, hahahhahaha and I have extra fat on the curves, but still plenty of muscle.

I generally just try to talk at least a 30 min walk daily, but here lately I have not had the energy. its weird, i have energy but I dont. I think its more of I need to stay home and get stuff done more than I need to take a walk. I will get back into the swing of it soon.

anyway, if you have not groomed 8 dogs a day 5 days a week, you would not understand the physical demand of this type of job. Which is why I only take walks.

Hi there! I am very new, too, so I dont feel like I am in a place to give advice but I echo what has been said with regards to possibly needing to eat more than what you have written for the day.

Also, I have recently begun to strength train via taking classes at my gym that focus on this and also doing some on my own via the machines and free weights. This has made a huge difference in my body. I used to be one of those people who did tons of cardio and skimpted on the strength training, thinking that cardio was what made the difference. As belle stated, cardio is important but so is the strength training.

Anyway, welcome to the board. I just joined a few days ago myself.

So eating more is a key to weight loss with living foods? I didn't realize that. I don't have much of an appetite, so I have been drinking water and just snacking to avoid a crash, but the hunger never really seems to come. Though it's always been that way for me, my hunger is like a sleeping lion, totally peaceful and then suddenly fierce and full of roar :o

I washed both of my dogs yesterday and was surprised that I was sore this morning. LOL, and I do tae kwon do. So yes, I think I NOW understand.
