Hi, i've been RAW a month, yeah me;)
I've lost a little weight maybe 8-10 lbs. I think i expected it to all just fall off.
I'm about 150lbs and would like to be 130lbs. Does anyone have any similar stories? It seems like some people lost a pound a day the first month. (I wish)

THAT is absolutely wonderful! How can one NOT feel great when eating raw? That to me is better then eliminating a ton of weight. It's how I feel. I feel alive. Something I don't EVER remember feeling.

If you're *only* 20 lbs overweight, dont expect it all to fall off overnight. The more overweight or obese you are the faster you will lose on raw. I'm losing at about 1 lbs a WEEK and thats fine for me; I didnt have much to lose.
Also I truly believe if you're SAD/Cooked diet was more on the "healthy" side (ironic, I know LOL) as opposed to fast food and ice cream, you may not lose as fast as someone who ate muffins for breakfast.

ive been pretty much raw for about 2 months and have only lost like 5 lbs. then again, i was only 131 to start so its going to be a lot slower for me. i two do feel like a different person. i feel motivated to just get into the world and do things, motivated to take on tasks and accomplish things, work doesn't seem like a chore, i just have a physical and psychological energy running through me now. i guess im ok with losing weight slowly because a) i dont have to feel hungry this way, b) im getting healthier in so many other ways too and c) the longer it takes to lose weight, the more the weight loss is tied to lifestyle changes, the more likely the change will be permanent versus losing through restriction that you just know you cant keep up with.
and, lol, my boobs didnt really get smaller. but is started taking herbs like fenugreek and dong quai that actually may help them get, ahem, fuller. i was small to begin with mind you. with all my raw energy, ive been exercising a lot more and butt has changed alot. during the school year my friends complimented on it ha ha saying i had a nice butt, probly bc i was walking TONS up hills all over campus, running, going to gym occasionally. when i came home for the summer i did a whole hell of a lot of just sitting on my butt and it lost its fullness and got kinda flat :/. so i started walking nightly, doing loads of lower body exercises and now its almost back to where it was all withing like 2 weeks or so. i think the coconut oil is helping too tbh, and i read somewhere that coconut oil can help build muscle, so just another awesome reason for me to take it!

less bloated rocks!
i just can't believe how great i feel. I look at SAD food and even when i'm tempted i think about how great i feel and don't want it (SAD food).
i love this board!!!

You're at about the same weight I was when I started. I lost 17 1/2 pounds, then gained back 1 pound during my period two weeks ago. About half of the weight came off in the first 6 days. The rest has been coming off slowly, which is good. I am losing a lot of inches though. Also, my allergies have GREATLY improved and I am sleeping MUCH better. I am in my eighth week of eating raw. I have been hovering between 131 - 132 lbs for the past few weeks and still losing some inches.

well pushups and stuff should help them keep shape as they shrink, idk, i think just losing weight will make them smaller. you might want to try some herbs good for female health too.

I'd say you're doing great. I'm in the same boat. I'm between 145 and 150 and I'd be thrilled with 130. I have NOT lost 8-10 lbs, though. I was raw for most of 5 months last year and didn't lose an ounce and I was 145 at the time at 5'4" so I totally could've stood to lose some. We really are all different. I try to change my thinking to focus on health and not weightloss. I tell myself that i'm not losing weight because my body is focusing on healing other things. What they are, I have no idea... but it kind of makes it easier to deal with everyone talking about how they lost 10 pounds the first day, and I can't lose 10 pounds 6 months. :o

I have been raw now for 2 mos and have lost only 4-5 lbs...bummer...but I feel so much better and I do feel as though I am stronger...the aches do not bother me so I feel more like doing things.
I have had some injuries the last couple of years and I would be very grateful if they were healing, so I also, just keep telling myself that they are and placing a good amount of faith in this lifestyle.
I need to another 60 lbs, so I had hoped that it would come off faster. Who knows...it is all adventure and a mystery...this trip - and I am enjoying the ride.

I lost 30 lbs my first 30 days.... but I was sooooo puffy, swollen, toxic and polluted  !!! (lol!! sad huh?)
After my first 30 days -- my weight loss sloooooowed waaaay down - like just a couple of pounds (or so) a month. I am currently on my 6th month and even though the rate at which I am losing weight has slowed... I wouldn't change this lifestyle for anything!!
There are so many other benefits to this lifestyle aside from just the weight loss... mental clarity, depression gone, sleeping better, migraines gone, my complexion no longer resembles Armadillo skin or the skin of an orange (my dh's description... yep... he's quite the honest dh.... !!) People are now complimenting me on how my skin glows and how soft my skin is... (THAT RAWKS!)
I realize I still have quite a ways to go.... and lots and lots of toning to do... but I'm on a journey - and like Jules ... I'm enjoying the ride too! I sure didn't get this way overnight... so ... I'll invest the time necessary to allow my body to reclaim it's health and vitality!

when i started raw, i was 136 at 5'7'' and did not really intend to lose more weight.
i thought i was raw the whole August (then i read my journal and saw that i was still drinking diet coke on day 20th!! YIKES!)
but when i came back to college several people commented on how "good" i looked, and slimmer. then i also got hold of scales and woah- i was 132!! (well i'm not sure how to convert these-i know that in kilograms i went from about 61.4 to 59)
what can i say? yay!

Donna,
did you loose too much weight?
Well, I was worried there for a while. I am 5' 4" and I weigh about 112lbs to 114lbs depending on when I weigh. I am trying to do some strength training to build some muscle, but I hate it. I am a mover not a lifter. I can run, play golf and tennis, or ride my bike. I really think I look better, but a heck of a lot smaller.

It may still happen, right?
I haven't been 34 since I was a teenager. I don't know if I will lose any additional cup sizes. I'm thinking probably not since I think I'm pretty much at or close to my ideal weight.

i was only overweight in the sense that i had some belly fat and boob fat. i know i am a guy but im not gonna call them pecks. i wasnt really a sit up guy so go figure. i had a super fast metabolism i am sure since i ate like 6 huge meals a day (i love to eat). i am 5 11. i went from 155/160 to 130 in 2-3 weeks. i ate a lot of fruit and light stuff, and took it easy on the fats. now, 7 months later, i weigh 140/145, and i got some booby fat again lol cuz i will eat like a pound of nuts in a sitting sometimes. not healthy at all, i dont care how raw it is. try to balance what you eat and dont eat to suppress emotions. this is easier said than done, but trust me, you come out on the other side so much wiser and stronger when you only eat when you NEED to, just for 1 day.

Ultimately I have lost a bit over a hundred pounds and went from a 36G at the worst to 34D now. I do work out, and yes, push-ups help!
I agree with Barose, the less weight you have to lose, the slower it tends to go.
Good job though! I'm always so inspired by everyone here!

Here's what I recently told my husband:
Me: I have good news and bad news. The good news is I'm loosing my gut.
Him: What's the bad news?
Me: My boobs are going with it.

So far I haven't lost any actual boobage. I think my husband would be a little sad about that, but he's 100% behind me doing whatever I need to do in order to feel better so he'll live. I'm 5'7", 187 lbs (gasp when did that happen) and I love to lift weights. I want to lose at least 50lbs and sadly most of that resides right on my GUT. I don't count the several lbs I lost the first week of going raw because I also cut out beer and Diet Coke. I'm sure I just peed out a bunch of bloaty stuff floating around.

I'm 5'6 and started at 210. I'm now around 136. I'm an olympic weight lifter as well-so I also hit the metal hard.
