I can appreciate that we are all different. For me the key to making this 100% raw lifestyle work is green juice. There is something in the green juice that satisfies me while at the same time helping me to feel calm and relaxed. I suppose everyone who succeeds at all raw has their own key. Whats yours ?

Two words: GREEN SMOOTHIES

Oh and the simple fact that I don't want to ever feel sick and unhealthy again. So it's 100% for me forever and there is NO turning back - ever again!

So true for me.

The first time that i did 100% raw it lasted 60 days. I didn't do greens then. Also, i made the mistake to eat raw lima beans not knowing better, i got sick and not long after, i found out that i was pregnant. So i went back on healthy cook food and would eat dairy and eggs occasionally because i was feeling responsible to care for this life in me and i didn't know better. If i would have to do this again, you bet i would be 100% raw while pregnant. I have read too many happy story during the labor for all mommy who were raw.

Anyway, being on cook vegetarian food for two years, i still didn't get my energy back. I thought at first it was because i was pregnant, etc... but after two years, i knew this wasn't right. I wanted to do raw food again because it was the time that i had so much energy. I just couldn't motivate myself again. Raw food wasn't appealing to me anymore, except for my fruits in the morning and some salad. Then i saw Victoria Butenko DVD'S green can save your life. I made myself a glass of green that same day, it was persely with apples and salad. I felt a difference almost immediately. Wow. Continuing to do greens, i then i found myself wanted to exercise again and i was attracted to raw food more. So i would do more research on raw food this time and try different recipes. I did that for about one month. Finally on Easter, i commited to 100% raw. I know that i cannot do cook food and raw at the sametime, only 100%raw work for me. And greens did help me to stay raw and to become raw as well.

I want to say thank you to Alissa for making this DVD. She was the first one that gave me faith that we could live on raw food, by making food preparration look so easy.

I send blessings to the Boutenko family for following their gut instinct because many including myself, benifit from their experience with greens.

Enjoy your greens

What are some of your favorite green juice recipes? I left my "Greens for Life" book of Victoria's to a friend yesterday and now I don't have recipes handy -- would love to hear a few faves.

My friend has been raw for 7 months and swears by the green drinks. I've been doing green smoothies for breakfast the past few months but always with fruit; haven't tried others yet.

Do you ever do fruit and green mixes or is it better to keep them fruit free (because of food combining)?

Happy Greening!

G-force - juices and green smoothies are two different things. The green smoothies that VB refers to in her book are the entire greens - blended. I prefer these only because of getting the fiber. If you do a search you'll find a ton of green smoothie recipes...
Juicing extracts only the juice leaving the fiber behind. Don't get me wrong, juice is fine, but you need the fiber too.

Do you ever do fruit and green mixes or is it better to keep them fruit free (because of food combining)?According to the Wolfe clinic celery and lettuce combines OK with fruit. Here's a link to check out:

Pause your cursor over the chart to see good combinations. The chart indicates that green smoothies are OK for most people as far as food combining principals are concerned.

I suggest reading Victoria Boutenko's book, "Green for Life", and watching her DVD. Lots of GS ?'s answered.
