Hi,

I have been 100% raw for almost five month now. I had a food poisoning maybe 3-4 weeks ago and i have been having problem with my health since then. I had a sinus infection now i think that i have allergies because this is the rag weeds time and someone told me that this should cease in mid September

My PH is acid and i just tested it and it went worst since three days. I have been trying to bring this back up to alkaline. I know that when you are detoxing, your PH is acid.

I am wondering why these allergies kick in. Because i never had this before, i would sneeze a little in that time but no more then this. Now my sinus are irritated, my throat is irritated and this is uncomfortable.

I am still nursing, so i need to be careful with food. I was thinking of cutting down high sugar and even eliminate them to see what happen (raw corn, dates, banana, raw agave, raw honey, etc...). Beside this, i don't know how to boost my immune system.

I had so much more energy with this 100% raw food diet but i don't understand why am dealing with such allergies reaction when i never had this before.

I don't know what i am missing?

Any light on this?

I have been eating raw for just over a year now and how become very sensitive to smells. Anytime I get around chemical cleaners, cigarette smoke, etc, my allergies go crazy. If I eat something non raw my allergies go crazy. I sneeze a lot and have had several allergic reactions to chemical smells at work that led to severe coughing, wheezing, and itching. Not sure whats going on with me either.

If it's not too personal a question, what colour is the mucous that you are expelling?!

Have experienced this most of my life. Grew up in Ohio and have lived in California for a long time. Same thing every year--sinus headaches, itchy eyes, runny nose (boy does that sound like the outside of a drug box).

Anyway, I started using the netty pot (sp?) daily. Flush my sinuses with warmish sea salt water (approx 1 t. salt) and have not had my annual suffering. Only time I don't feel good is when I get too busy and don't do it.
Hope this helps--sure better and cheaper than meds in my book.

Thank you for the advice.

I am so scared to do the sinus cleansing with salt, maybe i should give it a try anyway and just see what happen. I am only nervous because i wonder if it hurts. Usually when you have water in your nose it does.

I am a little confuse about being so sensitive like this with this pollen. I would think that raw food, would boost your immune system. I must be doing something wrong, not sure what it could be.

My body seems to be more sensitive as get older. At a younger age, i could eat anything, now my choice in diet is getting slimmer, but i don't feel deprive for i love raw food and what it does to me. I am just confuse with this strong reaction that i am experiencing right now, which i never had.

Flushing with a Neti Pot won't hurt at all as long as there's salt in the water -- it only hurts when we get non-salt water up our noses. Our bodies are made up of salt water, so it's good for your sinuses just like saline solution for your eyes or gargling with salt water -- same thing. :)

I've been raw 4 weeks today and I've got a sore throat as well. I used my Neti Pot last night and this morning and it really helped clear out my sinuses, and now I'm sipping some fresh lemon juice and raw honey mixed with some water for my throat. I've had horrid allergies for several years and started using only stinging nettle, bromelain and quercetin for them along with the Neti Pot when I needed a flush. Never had any problems since. But since I'm raw now, I'm not sure of all the best ways to deal with the symptoms I started getting yesterday. I haven't taken even the herbs since going raw because I assume they're not raw -- does anyone know if this is true? But I haven't had any problems until now, either -- I hope this is just detox, but my darn sinuses are definitely prone to infection! The Neti Pot should help, but I also assume the Grapefruit Seed Extract (natural antibiotice I used before raw) isn't raw, so I won't use that either. Do other people still have bad allergies after going raw? What 'remedies' do you use?
