Hello

I've been wanting to put up some before and after photos but.. I'm not sure how long I can say I've been raw. I know a lot of you made a decision to go raw and did it that day, so you have a start date. I really don't.. I started learning about raw foods last October and was eating abou 50-75% raw, slowly started eating more and more raw foods, then went to 100% raw 80% of the time ;) in April, which is when I really detoxed. But I still wasn't 100% raw until about 6 weeks ago, but I've had coffee a few times, not raw.. I dunno. How do you say how long you've been raw? If you mess up for a few days, which I did around the 4th of July, do you start over?

I was reading on another post that said if you are eating 75% raw you are considered to be "raw". I'm not sure who came up with this percent, but it makes sense to me. I'm not sure your exact date really matters in the long run. If you are trying to track progress, just try and find the date you feel that you comitted (even if it wasn't 100%). Or maybe the month before changes really started occuring for you. I personally feel that if you slip a few times you don't have to start over. This is a journey as they say. We all have our ups and downs. Of course, it's a totally personal choice for you how you wish to label yourself...but I would suggest getting away from labels and just concentrating on how you feel and learning from things that work and things that don't work to eventually arrive at a happy medium where you look and feel healthy. Hope this helps a little.

Thanks os much Holli! 75% sounds good. I don't really care, it just occurred to me to do pictures after 4 months, 8 months raw, a year, etc.. and I couldn't decide how long I've been raw, lol! It's mostly for my eye color, they're getting really light and blue... they've always been dark hazel. Anyway thanks a lot for the info ;)

I think that as long as you've made the commitment to any kind of Raw percentage, that's when you have your "start date".

Personally, I go by 100% when I'm keeping track for myself. However, in my signatures, I go by the days I started Raw, oopses or not. :)

Opinion:

-I don't assign a number......but rather the date at which I started consistently moving up....toward my goals....for the rest of my life.

Yes, like the last post, when I determined raw was for me and started making changes in my life to work towards 100%, that is my starting date. Even if I haven't been perfect, it's been the goal and that's why we label it a journey. ;)

Thank you so much you guys. This all makes sense.

Personally I'm feeling like, even though I was learning about raw foods and eating a lot of raw foods, for a while I was eating cooked foods on every trip and wasn't really committed to being a certain percentage of raw.. if that makes sense.. until April, so I'm going to think of my start date as April Fools Day :D Historically my annual day off (when you're the weird kid and your name is April, you pretty much have to stay home from school that day) but now I'll celebrate it! I know three years from now it's not going to matter much, but for now.. hey guys, I've been raw for 5 months!! :D Yay, that's the first time I've said that! cool, that feels good!

Personally, I use the day after the last day I ate any cooked food.....
