Wow...only 5 posts today!! Where is everyone!! I have had a not so great day, but still 100% raw. I went to the Dr. today, first time in 7 years, and got a pap, and regular exam. I also got my thyroid checked, and my blood test came back abnormal:( I suffered a minor set-back...feeling like my body let me down:( I now have to do serious research about healing my thyroid, but I already promised DH (because he is SOOOO worried about my health) that I would do whatever the Dr. recommended. NOW, that being said, I can still do all the things I want to....and wait for the healing to happen. They also are sending me to an indocrinologist, and didn't tell me HOW ABNORMAL my bloodwork was, just that it was abnormal..... so, now I have even more reason to REMAIN 100% RAW!!!
food today has been light because of the dr's appt.
water
barleymax
mexican lunch....guacamole salad...YUMMY
NOT hungry for dinner.
Ya'll have a great night.

Hey everyone!
Tvillemom ~ I hope everything goes well for you, with your thyroid....both with healing it, and with the research! I also haven't been to the doc in a number of years....I've been delaying it, but after reading your post, maybe I should get on it!
It's all good here......all raw and such! I'm really struggling to listen to my body, and not eat when I'm not hungry.....I just feel like I'm not getting all the nutrients I need in a day if I only eat what I HAVE been eating (which isn't much). Oh well, I'll figure it out! I can't believe this is the last week of September. Where did the time go?!
Today is Day 1 Lemon Cleanse, the last phase of my Cleanse I started in May. I do have a frozen green drink to take to work. I am going to try 30 days of Liquids.
I just received my 30 day Journal from Revvel so I am all set to go ! Perfect timing.
You should be down to your goal weight and a size 2 in no time!:D

Sorry - big hugs going out to you today!
Today was just orange juice for me as I am trying to transition my body back into eating again. I am really torn as I want to keep fasting but I also planned to be off of it by now. I also went out and bought a bunch of produce yesterday for this week so I need to quit soon! Well I think I will sleep on it and see how I feel tomorrow!

Hello everyone!
Well, since the end of the September Challenge is vastly approaching, I wanted to ask how everyone (who participated this month) feels about the new format of doing a new thread everyday.
Now, I know that I like it, Alissa likes it, and many others mainly because it seemed to be a lot easier to follow and keep up with the posts of each day. I've seen the (old) one-thread-challenges just really run amuck and became very difficult to follow and some members didn't want to join in because it was just too confusing.
So...what's your opinion? Do you prefer the new way of daily threads or the old way of having one, long thread? Why?

Hi all!! This is the plan for me today:
barleymax
tea
walnut taco meat with something....
I also want to get to the grocery store and buy some kale...to make kale chips for my trip to Puerto Rico at the end of the week. I think I am going to pack:
kale chips
dehydrated nuts
flax crackers
(all these in my suitcase)
with a couple of packaged raw bars in my carry-on so they pass inspection.
Anybody else travel in flight?? Wondering what they will allow? I tried to call the airline, but everything is automated.... very frustrating!!! I wanted to ask what they WILL allow...but I figured nuts and crackers are easily identifiable if they look in my suitcase...so they won't look like bomb material!!! LOL.
OK...I have alot of work to do to get the kids ready to stay at relatives house while Dh and I are out of town.....I HATE flying. Pray no planes go down.....:o
Wendi
PS.. Thanks for all the hugs yesterday. I was very emotional about it. THEN, this morning another nurse called me and had rescheduled my appointment to get me in earlier....she told me my numbers (not really sure what they mean) but where my number should be UNDER 5.6....mine was 60:eek: So, yeah, I'm sticking to 100%RAW and getting some Dr. intervention until things heal up.....and I know they wil heal up!!! Hey I wonder if the nurse meant 6.0 NOT 60??? Anyway, my number was off.
PEACE

HEY: I just checked on tsa.gov and looked up special items for travel, and the only restriction about food was that going through the x-ray process, all food had to be wrapped. I guess that means that I can pack food in bags (closed) in my suitcase and alittle in my carry-on. I just wanted to let anyone who was interested know. If I have any trouble, I'll let everyone know how it goes when I get home!!!

I know it's only 5 days left in this challenge but I didn't want it to pass me by. This will be day one of totally raw food for me. I hope I can do it. I made a corn salad for lunch (corn fresh off the cob, green peppers, cucumbers & red onion w/ a dressing of red onion, garlic clove, EVOO, the juice of lemon and a touch of kosher salt). I can't wait to dig in.
Don't have a plan for dinner yet but I'm going to look into that now so I don't get caught with the munchies.
BW - 211
GW - don't have a GW in mind but my goal size is an 8, current size = 16

Hiya fellow rawbies! Just checkin' in ~ something I haven't been too good at these last few days. :o I can't believe the September challenge is nearly over!
Food intake is good and on track. I had a couple of huge "woots" when I found myself at a restaurant Friday evening and then again Sunday when we went to a Rangers baseball game. Managed to not indulge in the yucky (must keep telling myself it's yucky) stuff. Stick to my guns I did.
I really want to do a cleansing fast before the end of the year, but I have to it when DH is traveling for work because I don't know if I can handle being around the smells of cooked food during that time. Problem is he doesn't do any extended traveling until January. :( So it might have to wait until then. I don't know...we'll see.
Keep on keepin' on, y'all!

Howdy y'all!
Casperlynn ~ I'll give ya a couple too....WOOT WOOT!! Good for you! Them guns is worth stickin' to!
So, it's been a great food day for me.....I had a lovely wilted spinach salad with marinated onions, avo, heirloom tomato, carrots, and mustard seed dressing......divine! Not sure what to have for din......I made the eggless egg salad, maybe have that with some sliced jicama as "crackers"....don't know....going to fly by the seat of my pants! Have a good one all!

Day 33 for me!!:D
The last couple of days have been rough as far as cravings go. I have realized without any question that I am addicted to cooked food and like any addict I have the inner workings necessary to get what I want...I can lie, hide, conive, plan, etc...I haven't eaten cooked food but I have been thinking about how I could get some. I am pre-menstrual and I think that is why yesterday was so hard. I wanted something but not just "anything". I had nothing in the house that would be "worth" the fall. (as if anything could be) so I waitied...I half jokingly bribed my husband w/sex last night if he would go get me the "thing" I wanted. He said "NO! And you'd better not ask me again. I am not THAT virtuous!!!"....I was mostly kidding...he wasn't!!!
I run a family day care and so have children here from 7am until 6 pm so I am housebound during those hours. I planned on getting up early this morning so I could run to the store, which opens at 6:30 so I could GET the desired item...my husband leaves at 6:15 so he would never know I did it..would hide all the wrapping in the garbage. It was my plan to do that this morning...but...
By the time he woke me up at 6 to kiss my goodbye I had pretty much come to my senses......*deep sigh*.......it's a horrible thing to obsess. I even thought about it when I woke up in the night. Crazy!!!:(
But...I didn't do it...I am aware of what I was doing...I am on day 33 and I have plans for myself that are way more fullfilling than eating said crap. So..I make my green smoothie and make some things for the dehydrator today and keep eating good raw food when I am hungry and putting one foot in front of the other.
Thank you guys for being here and for caring~

I'm here and raw and battling a UTI. The good thing about battling a UTI is.....
Well, I can't think of a good thing so, NEXT!
I'll be drinking LOTS of water today, so I won't be lacking in the department I typically neglect. I tend to eat less when I drink that much water, so I may end up in a detox again. (I'm hoping not)
Hope everyone has a GREAT raw day!:D

CONGRATULATIONS GLIMR!!! You are so strong. I know, without a doubt that I have done the same thing!!! Some of the time, I don't actually cave, but sometimes I have. I won't cave again!!! Thank you for sharing your VICTORY!!!
I have lots to do today. Dh and I are leaving town tomorrow evening...flying out from Charlotte on Friday morning...to Miami, and from Miami to Puerto Rico.
I am going to try to take some foods with me, but I'm not sure how much RAW foods will be available. I will search them out, and make requests, it's the best I can do!
Yesterday's food:
barleymax
tea
walnuts w/ drizzle of evoo sprinkled with sea salt and nutritional yeast
brownie/choco avo pie (frozen in two layers...YUMMY)
I need more greens so today I will make a large green smoothie and have that 2 meals!!!
Take care!!

I just want to stay under the 140 mark so I am hoping I can maintain that. I guess we will see! I got some beautiful tomatoes yesterday from someone at work and can't wait to eat them. Went to a raw food demo a local church put on last night. So much fun, tried a lot of food I haven't made yet myself. The best part was the lovely people who put it on. She was just diagnoiosed with tyroid cancer and turned to raw t o get healhy. Along the way she has regained her health, lost 65 lbs, and gotten lots of energy, her husband also has lots of beniftis, went from 225 to 185, cleared head, more energy. They said it has made such a difference in their lives they just wanted to share with others.
One of the recipies they made was Alissa's strawberry crepes, MMMM good.
My friends went with me, he is a real meat and potatoe man:eek: but he tried everything and liked most of it. His wife and I are going to try to get some veggies in him. He said he could definately eat the crepes.:p

Hey ALL ! 30 days coming up on us fast. I think I will hit my goal of losing 4-5 pds this month. Then I will be ideal weight. Then to maintain. Now that I know I will survive a few days on liquids I will do that ore often, thnaks Morn for the motivation to try it !! :D
Day 3 of liquids...mostly Lemon Water and Green Drink today, did eat some flax, sesame, pumpkin seed brittle I took out of the dehydrator. Who could resist a taste...but no food today, I did a quick walk today. I have loads of energy on this liquid diet so I think I will add the jogs back in Friday.

Hello to everyone!
I have had a really bad week this week. Weird and uncontrollable things have been happening and I have been without sleep for several days and VERY crabby (not depressed, just overwhelmed and uncertain). Plus when I am very stressed and emotional like this I miss my father deeply who always made me feel good about myself (he died 3 months ago today). He was a great father and a good friend.
However, the good news is (gotta look for that rainbow, right?) that I am still 100% raw! I would have caved before for lesser things.
I tried on my pair of 18's and they were very loose. It may not sound like much but these jeans were very tight I had to leave the button open when I wore them. So that made me feel better. Still a long way to go but this helped me to feel a bit better.
I hope the day goes well for all of us.

Also it seems like since I have fasted I am getting full really quick now so I will have to watch it so I don't over do it. Todays food is a salad, broccoli salad, and a banana. That is what I have with me at work. I hope you all have a wonderful raw day!

Well I finally tried out my new icecream maker and made a raw vanilla icecream with carob chips. I could only eat a little bit since it was so filling and dense. The texture was decent but I think it wasn't quite right. Don't know what it was lacking and I guess I need to tweak it a bit and experiment some more. I think it needed to be sweeter though. I also made Rawvolution's summer corn salad which I love. Yesterdays food:
A banana
Broccoli salad
Garden salad with raspberry dressing
Summer corn salad
Raw icecream with carob chips
Today is my day off but I have parent teacher conferences and a volley ball game for my daughter later. I just got done exercising and I feel great. I think I am going to make some fresh apple, carrot, beet, and spinach juice and finish up my broccoli salad from yesterday.

Congratulations to everyone who has made it through the challenge thus far!!! It's not an easy feat, it takes courage and strength and everyone should be very proud of themselves.
....on to day 5 for me
Have a Blessed Day!

I feel so good this morning. I just weighed myself (wasn't due to until tomorrow but couldn't resist) and I lost 4.5 lbs. I feel sooooo good!! That was the payoff for this week b/c this week was really tough.
And last night my DM wanted taco's from taco bell so I went and got them for her and I didn't have any desire for it. I got home and had celery and salsa. I feel so good today!
I hope everyone has a GREAT day today!!

My thought exactly !!
I would say, one day early, that the 30 day Challenge was a success for me !
The biggest thing was the break through in my husbands acceptance of Raw. He has given me a hard time before, especially eating out. Yesterday we went to Ithaca NY, for those familar it is a haven of Vegan and Rawfoodists. Most restaurants offer both in addition to SAD, so I could eat in peace !!
My DH told me last night that whatever I was doing different to keep it up !
RAWK ON !!

Congrats, rawfigure! It's so much easier when those around you are supportive, and appreciative of your choices. Rawk it girl!
I've been MIA for the last 2 days, but through the temptations of SAD, I have prevailed! Woot! I'm so excited to be able to end this challenge on a high note, and prepare for the October challenge (which really WILL be a challenge, considering Canadian Thanksgiving is next weekend.......ack!), but I am bound and determined to make it a raw holiday....going back to my hometown is always a diet trap, but I may just need you all a little more to help me make it through......anyway, getting a little ahead of myself here....
I'm so very proud of everyone.....we rawked it ladies! Let's get through tomorrow, then it's on to RAWKTOBER!!!!

Hey all!
I'm still here. Just had been sick, quick trip to the ER, got taken care of, and am getting better now. I even had to have hubby bring me bananas and and apple so I could take the medicine. Gave me a good opportunity to talk to the woman who was taking our insurance information about raw foods when she commented about how healthy I was eating!;) See, you really CAN make good come out of a bad situation!:D
Hope everyone else is rockin' their raw lifestyle!:D One more day left ya'll! Next we'll see who's up for October!:D

I've got a mildly stressful day ahead of me, but thank God I'm Raw so I can handle it. I don't fly off the handle all of the time like I used to. I just flooded my body and brain with love via green juice. It's everything I wanted coffee to be and more.....:)
I'm so happy to be setting up a kitchen that is more use-friendly with my raw lifestyle. This move has really upgraded the standard of my living, thank God.
Happy Raw Day everyone!

Today I just did some stuff around the house and juiced and exercised. I also need to go through some clothes that don't fit me anymore. Over 1/2 of my closet is too big for me! I am still struggling getting rid of stuff though. I think because this has all happened so quickly I am not mentally caught up. I know I need to do it but I think I am still afraid. I seriously have emotional issues to still deal with. Foods eaten today so far:
apple, spinach, beet, carrot and banana smoothie
summer corn salad
Exercise: 1/2 hour of rebounding

Alrighty then!!!!:D Sept challenge almost over...
Changes for me include~
*released 10 lbs
*sleeping better
*complexion looks brighter, softer
*more energy
*total change in attitude
*more positive
*believe in myself again and my abilities
*determination
I wasn't going to weigh in till after my m. cycle starts but couldn't stand waiting any more. I am down 10 lbs. I hoped it would be more but I'll take it...at 50 and without being able to excersize right now it is pretty good!!:)
And more than that is how I feel...so incredibly good emotionally. Slow and steady will work...just keeping my eyes forward~
So....thanks Alissa for all the work you do and for giving us this space to support each other...makes a huge difference in my life~
