Just thought I'd get some opinions or suggestions...

very strange thing is happening - I wake up in the morning - and I'm experiencing a strange cramping sensation in my stomach. No nausea - not like I have to go to the bathroom, almost like hunger pangs -- but seriously -- I'm not hungry.

My daily intake of food has been mostly salads for 3 weeks well... actually almost the entire month of August, a bit of spicy taco meat here and there (walnuts) with cashew sour creme.

salad contents ususally are:
various greens, red cabbage, red lettuce, and kale
zuchinni, carrott, cucumbers, red onion (just a tiny bit - I'm not a real onion fan), mung bean sprout and avos.

My usual dressing is the goddess dressing ...
the few times that I had the spicy taco mix added to the salad - I used salsa for the dressing

(my goodness what a boring menu for an entire month - I've been so busy I hadn't noticed....small salad for breakfast ~ med salad for lunch ~large salad for dinner (and I do mean LARGE SALAD!!) ... blahhh I gotta spice up my life here! ) anywayz...

my liquids have been water or the MC drink. I used to start my morning out with an MC drink -- but I've been out of lemons -so I haven't had the drink for this past week.

2 days ago I start having this crazy cramping ~ in the mornings only. Its' not that I have to go potty - I am very regular and seem to always go 'right on schedule'!!! and I'm still on schedule so it's not like constipation..

any ideas? the cramping lasts about 45 minutes until I get to work and
thats when I usually start drinking lots and lots of water all day... and the cramping stops... I've noticed it in the afternoons a couple of times too... like right now -and that's why I'm writing about it. My tummy feels swollen like gas but I dont' have gas... and it's cramping.... it hurts like... it's stretched to it's limit -- very weird...

oh - but you know what -- I did have something different for lunch today - raw corn tortilla with smashed avos and my regular salad mix with a tiny bit of taco meat and the last of my cashew sour creme rolled up into a burrito. It was quite yummy! and something other than salad... well sort've anyway!

maybe eating the same thing day in and day out (other than being boring) is also not good for you?

It might be something to think about... that your body became used to the lemon drink every day and now that it hasn't had that cleansing effect (even though you're still regular)... Your tummy might be wondering what's going on.

I hope you feel better soon!! Big hugs!

Gosh Star I don't know! Are you eating late in the day before you go to bed? Are you getting enough water throughout the day?

Wish I could be of help. Sorry sweety. I sure hope you are feeling better tomorrow morning.

The only thing I can think of is the cabbage. I was doing cabbage in my salads and I had severe stomache cramping like stuck gas or something. I would have to do a lot of diaphragmatic breathing and squatting on the toilet to find relief. You might try ommitting it for a day or so to see if it is the culprit.

I wonder if there are any food combining issues possible ?

okay... sooo....

gotta cut out the cabbage...

squat on the toilet.... (almost like being back in Japan!)

get lemons so my tummy will think life is normal again...

and figure out a good explaination to give to my dh why I'm squatting on the toilet... http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/1422.gif

okay... that's a good start! Keep those suggestions come'n!! oh and btw... water.. I drink about ... ummm...I dunno - my water bottle is 1.5L and I refill it about 4 or 5 sometimes 6 times a day. So I get plenty of water -- I just love water that's why I drink so much of it! (this is normal water consumption for me).

oookay!!! http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/smiley_witchdoctor.gif I'm on it!!

your response made me laugh : ). There was a thread a while back about squatting. I had never heard of it before, but ever since I've been propping my feet up on the trash basket for easier elimination. Definately helps.

solar... thank gawd you explained that ... cuz I was planning on actually squatting on the toilet!! http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/laugh.gif ...

ya know many of the places in japan that we visited the toilets were right on the floor so you squatted over them. Great for my mom and I... with our very short legs...

but for my 6'2 Dad.... OMG.... you could hear him cussing and complaining inside the tiny little stalls.... it was hilarious... but I did find the toilets quite comfortable! The funniest part was when we did find a 'western toilet' there were instruction on the door or wall of the stall ..."how to use a western toilet" and it included the step....

'DO NOT STAND OR SQUAT ON THE TOILET SEAT... SIT DOWN ON THE TOILET SEAT!!'

IT WAS FRICKIN HILARIOUS!!! I tried to steal one of those signs but couldn't get it off the door!!! ....

so.. okay- I will prop up my feet ... not stand and squatt on the toilet!! hehheeeee!!! :D

I had this cramping last night. For the last two days I was drinking only lemon water, I'm not really sure if that was the cause. I know when I do eat cabbage it makes my stomach feel little weird.

The whole squatting thing is rather funny but also interesting that us Americans have been pooing wrong all these years. Apparently squatting opens up an area of the intestines that allows for complete elimination. You can buy tools to place upon the toilet to simulate the posture. I actually tried to squat on my toilet and I broke the seat because it was a wooden one. Too funny. That's when I resorted to the waste basket.

starfire, if your hubby, like you say is a bit more frisky (and cutting out the cabbage doesn't help and what not) extra sex has in the past for me caused cramping and ........well the point is I went to go see my gyn and she said that if I was sure it wasn't my food(which in hindsight since I was not raw or gluten/dariry free, the food prolly didnt help :( ) BUT for some woman extra or a sudden increase in sex can actually cause physical reactions for people. i am only speaking from personal expierence, but good luck! i hope you feel better soon!

Hey Girlie!!! I read in a book once that "squatting" is the way we should "potty" because it's like we do in nature...

So, from that time on, I started using a stool when I go and I notice that it does get a more out that way!!! If you don't have a stool, try turning over a small trash and putting your feet up on that... Gives a new meaning to the words "TRASH CAN"!!!!!!!!!! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.....)[/B] :D :D
