This is new to me as the forums, I tried raw a few years ago but it didn't last too long. Last I tried Julians book but it was very difficult.
I was intrigued when I saw Alissa on Tyra the other day and she said it wasn't time consuming as people thought. A few minutes in the kitchen per meal, I'd like to know if thats' true.

I'm 44 and have been heavy most of my life. The last month and 1/2 I have lost 22 lbs thx to fruit and veggies and not eating dinner but I need to know more about raw and a easy lifestyle. Desperately trying to lose weight because I'm afraid of health complications around the corner with every birthday. and I want to feel better.

Husband is a diabetic and a terrible eater. So I'm constantly challenged with bad opportunitys. Also I find myself away from home alot and have to eat out.

Thx, misspenny

Aloha and Welcome to RFT!!! I so glad you have joined us! Where abouts are you in the Inland Empire? I was out there for several years!

Yes the raw lifestyle is AMAZING - Alissa makes it very easy - the recipes are wonderful and I'm loving my journey....

The best place to start is to get Alissas book and the DVD... they are wonderful tools to help you transition to the raw lifestyle. The DVD is amazing b/c you actually get to see the foods being prepared - you get to SEE how easy it is to make these delicious meals -- and ... for someone like me -- who had no clue what kind of textures, or what to expect... it was great getting to actually SEE the foods being prepared.

PLUS... GOTTA TELL YA... the before and after pics of the two gals in the DVD with Alissa -- POSITIVELY SHOCKINGLY AMAZING. That alone kept me so focused... i kept thinking during my first 30 days... if they can do it -- I CAN DO IT... If they can do it ... I CAN DO IT!!!

In Alissas book there is a 30 day plan all laid out -- sooo easy- right down to a shopping list - lol!! ;) (she must've anticipated lolo's http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/RollingEyes.gif like me not knowing what to do ~ how to do it~ or with what to do it :D !!)

blessings on your journey... and hang on for the ride...

You're gunna love RFT!!

I live in the IE, Corona to be exact. Raw is a very easy lifestyle, I eat lots of smoothies, guacamole, fruit, and dates. Everything is very simple and easy to prepare. Some people have special gadgets but they are not neccesary. For me I really enjoy having a Vitamix blender because it really makes my smoothies come out nice. Other than that I just use a machete for coconuts and a knife to cup up fruit. :) The hardest thing for me is comfort eating and I often resort to binge eating. I know raw is the best way and I am trying my best to stay 100%.
