Hi. I am new and have been reading alissa's book/dvd and trying to educate myself on and off for the past 2 years. I was an ovo-lacto vegetarian for 6+ years and went back to eating chicken/fish about 2 years ago b/c i was working out constantly and seemed to be starving for more than what I was getting.
although, lately i feel miserable/heavy/unhealthy/toxic and feel like i am finally ready to go raw-vegan.
i have been contemplating beginning with the master cleanse...to get started.
i don't have ANYthing in my kitchen to assist with the transistion though. just a regular blender.
sooo...here i am reading and trying not to get overwhelmed. i am not worried about transitioning in terms of cravings, but mostly getting a routine down so i don't cop out due to laziness in the kitchen. i hate cooking. :) haha, so going raw should be easier, right?

Aloha and Welcome to RFT! WELLL... you have Alissas book and that's a great tool that will help you out! there are a lot of recipes that you can make that don't require a dehydrator - I only used a blender for the longest time - cuz that's all I had too!
You can keep it simple until you feel ready to make some of the more 'involved' recipes!
so glad you have joined us here on rft!! blessings on your journey!
RAWK ON!

Hello fellow San Diegan!!! :D
Welcome to Raw, and welcome to this board. There are SO MANY really wonderful people here!
There are several Raw restaurants in the area (I haven't tried any yet :o ) and also a Meet-Up group (www.meetup.com) I haven't been to any of those meetings because something's always come up, but I'm looking forward to making it one of these days!
Anyhow, please feel free to ask questions and if you're looking for a specific topic the little banana "Search" up there ^^^ works wonders.
Nice to meet you, and hope to hear more from you soon!

Hi,
I also Live in San Diego. Cilantro Live is the Raw food Restaurant and there are many locations. I've been to the Raw food meetup's and they're great. The owner of the market where they have them is sooo generous. In addition to all the great food everyone brings, he also provides some great dishes. Lot's of fun. The next one is Saturday Sept. 8th at 1:00 30th st. at Ranchos market. All you need to bring is a raw dish. I brought the date nut torte last time and everyone loved it. It's really easy to make.
Hope to see you there,
Solar
