Ok....so my family and i are leaving in a few weeks to Disneyland ("the happiest place on earth" OR should i say "the least Raw Food place on earth") ;)
Dont get me wrong, i'm very excited about this trip, getting out of town and spending time w/family will be fun. However, no one in my family eats the way i do! I'm really nervous about what to eat besides living on packaged processed salads there at D-Land....
Our room does have a fridge, however, we're flying! Usually whenever we go on trips i spend the week before making stuffs in my dehydrator and homemade salad dressings to take w/me, but w/all the security at the airports, i dont even know what i could bring on the plane!
Does anyone have any suggestions?? another thing i'm freaking out about is that i cant really bring my blender, which i bring everywhere i go......that means no green smoothies for a week!!!

oh dear....i was trying to find health food stores there near D-Land, but as soon as we get there, we have a busy itinerary! I'm sure the last thing my family wants to do is hunt around for a grocery store and spend time shopping while they're waiting to get to the theme parks!!!

What have you done? Any advice would be helpful, cuz i really dont wanna go off raw foods and feel miserable my entire vacation!

Thankyou so much!

I know when I went to disneyworld in florida they had little produce stands (apple/oranges/bananas) in the streets. I remember trying to order a vegetarian burger (the only vegetarian option) and I asked to get it without cheese and they said it would take 45 mins! So I got the regular one (took no time) and peeled off everything the lettuce touched...oh and it was $8! So hit the produce stands!! Bring any dehydrated goodies you can...but have fun most of all...

I was at Disneyland recently, and outside the Tiki Room they have a pineapple stand. I'm vaguely aware of fruits and salads being offered elsewhere.

As far as the plane goes, I was happy with dried fruits (sulfur free) and raw nuts. It's a relatively short flight from Sacramento into LA, so don't worry about huge amounts of stuff.

Okay I'm on the Disneyland site now and there's a place called Tropical Imports that has fruit. Village Haus Restaurant has side salads. Plaza Inn has vegetarian food, which could probably be made raw.

As far as going shopping, call the place you're going to be staying at and ask if there's a grocery store nearby. When I was in Wisconsin recently there was one within walking distance that had a lot of great produce. If the hotel person doesn't know, then maybe mapquest the hotel and see if there are grocery stores nearby (I think you can do that...)

Can you pack your blender? :D

All the best!!! Have a great time!

I go to disneyland once a week or so (I have an annual pass), and they have produce stands in the park all over (but it's not cheap.), and you could DEFINATLY bring in bananas and stuff that you could buy from a grocery store before-hand. I always take a banana and some nuts when I go. Apples work too. The staff are pretty nice, just say that you're on a special diet for health purposes and they'll let you take in anything. Say you're diabetic.

There is also a Jamba Juice located in Downtown disney, and I'm sure with some good communication you could coerce them into making you a smoothie of just fruit and water, with no sweeteners or concentrates or dairy bases. Just be VERY specific.

I'll probably bring lots of nuts w/me.....i really cant eat too much fruit cuz of the sugar.....but thats great that they'll let u bring food in.....i didnt think they would let you!

Thankyou all for you advice.....

I really want to pak my blender, but i'm not sure if the airport would go thru my suitcase......(obviously they do), i just worry it'll get damaged.....maybe i can buy a cheapy blender just to take on trips!! :p
