Good morning, all.

I'm scheduled to have a wisdom tooth pulled on the 10th of Sept. Would prefer not to have to, but it's creating problems like bone loss with the molar in front of it. Not good. It's got to go. The wisdom tooth has been there forever, fully erupted, and has now grown longer than the molars on that side. So, not a full surgical wisdom tooth extraction, but an extraction nevertheless.

My question is: how can I speed the healing of the (what I presume will be) a gaping hole left in my jaw? A friend mentioned a black tea back held in place would stop bleeding and speed healing.

I already do oil pulling with evco and would think that might help, but don't know if I should stop during the healing period? No mention of that on any oil pulling website I've seen.

tia and blessings!

Can you get ahold of some wheatgrass or the pulp of wheatgrass? Put it right onto the area and hold it there. Replace a couple times a day.

Well when you get a wisdom tooth out, you're not supposed to 'suck' on things so I'd assume oil pulling would be a bad idea. It may dislodge the clot.

Oh, I have heard that cloves are good at numbing pain. Here:

"Whole cloves and pure food grade clove oil has been recommended by herbalists for centuries to relieve tooth pain. It is an old tried-and-true folk remedy which really works. However, be forewarned that the pain relief is only temporary, and you should definitely keep your appointment with your oral surgeon. You might want to take a whole clove or two and place it directly on the tooth and between the gum, or near the area which is causing you pain. Be sure to chew on it slightly to bruise the clove, and then let it do its magic. The taste is strong, but can be tolerated if you are not sensitive or allergic to cloves.

Another suggestion would be to use aloe vera gel on the tooth, but I am not certain if this alone would be strong enough. You might want to experiment with aloe vera gel mixed with cloves or clove oil and see which combination will work best for you. The aloe vera gel might also dilute the strength of the clove oil if it is too strong for you to tolerate."
