ok...I'm pretty new. Started transitioning about a month ago...pretty much been all raw now for 3 weeks. .

I almost immediately started feeling better - even a week into the transition my aches and pains went away....I was so excited....

Now, I've been 95 -100% raw for 3 plus weeks and I'm wondering if there is a wrong way to do raw...I Really need to lost at least 60 lbs. So, I hoped that the weight would come off pretty quickly, but to date, the scales don't show any weight loss.

I do feel less swelling in my hands and feet and have tons more energy, so I would like to stick with this...it makes me happy and most days aren't too difficult...I am concerned that if I don't start losing, I will become discouraged

Will someone take a look at what I am eating and advise:

I eat a green smoothie in the am. It varies everyday, but typically has with 2 cups spinach, a couple of fruits (eg, strawberries, blueberries, peach, apple, papaya, kiwi, canteloupe) with 2TBS hemp protein powder, 1 TBS Maca powder, 2 TBS flax seed and water or fresh apple juice.

Then I am not hungry all morning and into the early afternoon...so I eat an apple, or celery, or carrots in the afternoon and a handful of almonds

Between, 3 and 4 I have usually a salad (spinach mixed greens, parsley, cilantro, cucumber, celery, scallion, tomato, lemon or lime juice, 1 tbs olive oil 2-3 TBS of hemp seeds),

OR a vegie shake or some freshly squeezed green juice (arugula, spinach, celery, cilantro, parsley, cucumber with a tomato.)

In the early evening 5-6, I eat about a TBS of raw almond or cashew butter ( crave it about this time) with an apple and drink water if I am shy of 8 - 10 glasses.

Today, I bought a watermelon and I am plannng to either juice of blend it w/ rind juice for a snack...

I have been waiting until I feel hungry to eat.

Well, what do you think?
Does everyone lose weight (starting weight 191)

Thanks....Jules

You're not eating enough it seems. Also, 95%-100%. Do 100% for 30 days, then let us know.

If you've not gotten Alissa's book and dvd's you might consider doing so. Answers to many of your questions are there.

Not enough.. .I am so full all of the time...my smoothies fill up a large iced tea (
Where and what should I add?

I have ordered the book, but haven't received it yet...:(

I have been 100% raw, 14 out of 15 days. On the other day, my only "cheat" was at a mexican restaurant w/ my parents, where the only close choice was a tostado and I ate the iceberg lettuce (yuk) and tomatoes with pico di gallo and some of the borraccho (cooked- but not refried) beans.

I plan to continue raw...in the between time while I wait for my book, does anyone have any advice to fine tune my current diet?

Thanks in advance

Your body will decide what it wants to fix for you first based on it's priorities and it may not be your weight.
It is possible that your body has more pressing problems to deal with that you may not even know about. Thrust it and give it a chance. It may be saving your life right now. It will get around to dealing with your weight in time.
Just stick with it and you will see the wonders that your body can do for you.

Hi, I wanted to encouarge you to hang in there. Do not get discouraged because you are not losing weight rapidly. I have been earnestly trying to lose weight since May. I have lost an average of 1 pound a week (sometimes two, sometimes none). I figure I'm doing pretty good considering it took me 20 years to get to the weight I was. I weighed just a few pounds more than you at my heaviest. I have lost almost 20 pounds. (Wow!) I am just a few pounds away from actually being the weight on my drivers license. :D Exercise is important, too. Be sure to get about 30 minutes a day if not more.

Be patient and keep on trying to figure out what is best for your body. Eating good foods and exercising is a winning combination. It took a while to put the weight on. I figure if it takes a year to lose weight, that is not bad considering how long it took to add it.

You're doing great... just do the best you can... and if you CAN do 100% then that's truly the best route (imho of course)... but you must do what works for you.

But please don't become discouraged. This is a journey and it takes time to make the changes .... time to rebuild your body.... time to release toxins and poisons! So - really it all depends on how badly you want vibrant health... if you truly want to be radiant... you will honor yourself and continue to feed your self with nutritious foods...

if you are only wanting to lose the weight - and want an overnight answer... no such thing exists... (not even stomach stapling is overnight... plus the dangers and baggy skin.... ughhhh.... sadly so desperately drastic!! but that's a whole nother topic...)

Look... here is Morn's testimony ... just one of many you will find here on RFT. But you will see... this didn't happen over night - it was a journey of over 10 months of hard work, effort, laughter, tears, determination and trust .... trust that the raw lifestyle could help her reclaim her power... and she has .... it is a beautiful and eye opening testimony...

so please don't give up... your journey has only just begun!!
