I was sitting out in the sun today and when I looked down at my arm I realised a big scar from a burn I got a couple of years ago is gone! Looking around, I found that another largish scar on my knee was gone too! Almost nothing is left to show they were there. I've been taking MSM for about the last month and I guess that stuff works! That, and/or the green smoothies I've been living off of for the last 2 weeks... It will be interesting to see if older scars disappear too...Just thought I'd share the good news!

I am and that is one of the first things I noticed. I have only been at it about 2 weeks and an old bicycle crash scar and a horrid burn from my motorcycle muffler are both healing with incredible speed

the bicycle scar is deep and in a stubborn spot on my ankle and I thought it would be there forever! My friend who is pulling is also noticing that a surgery scar that was really deep and rugged is lighter and smoothed out

we are juicing a lot and I have been almost 100% for 6 weeks so it could be the enzymes but I think it really became dramatic with the oil

we have had all sorts of success....I had 5 teeth with receeding gums that are almost totally healed...she had a dentist appt this week to have a tooth pulled that she has cancelled because she is pain free....check out the oil pulling challenge thread...it's pretty awesome

I second the MSM. It is getting rid of years old acne scars on my face. Oh how I love MSM - it good for so many things! :)

Are you guys talking about keloid type scars, hyperpigmation or deep (pits) scars?

I have a nasty scar on my face/chin from when I got too lightheaded and fainted (fell on my printer no less:rolleyes: ) last year. Though I went to a plastic surgeon and it did make a huge difference, the keloid scar is still there. I hope it goes away!

I know about the scars, when i was in school i fell and got a cut on my nose and it's a razed scar and it is getting smaller with "oil pulling" and another one under my eye is also getting smaller so yes "oil pulling does work on scars:)

Holy sh......

I've had a scar since I was 12. Fell out of a tree about 2 stories high and a branch slit my right wrist near the thumb. It is WAy lighter. The 2nd scar below it is almost gone. I can't see the middle of it, just the sides. WOW. I hadn't even noticed. Thanks so much for posting this. I feel like crying. I thought I'd have that ugly scar all my life!

Barose: They were not keloids. Not sure what kind they were -maybe hyperpigmented? Have you tried rubbing MSM cream on your scars as well as taking it internally? I'm taking about 1500mg a day plus I've been rubbing MSM lotion where I have a few stretch marks on my hips. They seem to be fading...

I would love to begin a stretch mark removal therapy regimine. Can you give me details. I read what MSM is, but what brand should I use. I like quality products, what's yours? How often do you rub? Are you taking 1500mgs at one time or as a total for the day? Sorry 4 the Q's, but this is very interesting!

I'm not oil pulling right now (although I was, and I keep meaning to!) and I haven't ever had MSM, but I just looked at the three scars on my right thigh from when I got into an accident and a metal rod was attached to my femur... I hadn't really thought to look until you started this thread, but they're going away big time too! You almost can't even see two of them now!

I think it's the power of doing good stuff for our bodies. I've been dry brushing my body, so that could be related, so could the oil pulling I have done... but then there's raw. I don't think it's just one thing, just the healthy habits.

I have a big scar on my forearm from a burn (oven door closed on it) that is about 5 years old. It's fading. I haven't been taking MSM or oil pulling.

yeah! today was my 1st oil pulling experience. i used raw ex. vir. coconut oil. it was interesting. I like the flavor it left behind. i think i'll use olive oil tomorrow. i read somewhere that sunflower and safflower were better. i will let my body decide!

I noticed a few days ago that my stretch marks have faded considerably and I just went to check on the scar on my throat from the surgery seems to be fading as well. Seven pound twins are NOT good for the wasitline either. Sure not going to complain about my neck scar disappearing either!

I have not been oil pulling, but just eating lots of fresh veggies and fruits.

I take about 1000-1500 mg MSM a day and I rub the lotion in everyday or every other day.
I think the MSM is helping a lot but I also think the nutrients from raw fruits and veggies is helping also.

MSM is a natural organic sulpher. It tastes disgusting but is extremely beneficial and safe.

I was just reading this thread and saw that MSM is sulfur. I am allergic to sulfer medication so would I also be allergic to this?
2 vertical c sections, gall bladder and apendectomy scars and stretch marks need to go!

wow! i know i saw something about MSM on aleesha's before & after thread... but WOW!!! this is SO COOL! lol i had no idea it did all that!!

i have heard about MSM being good for you, but i didn't really know why. i know that some people at the stable i used to train at, fed MSM to their horses because it supposedly helped with joints and other stuff (have to keep jumping horse's legs strong :)).. and my dad used to buy it at the feed store in big tubs & we'd take a couple big scoops of it everyday. Now i want to get back on it!!!

Hi isabelephant :)

I was just wondering, did your scars go away completely or fade white?
How many mg's of MSM were you taking & how long were you on a raw food based diet before you noticed the scars were gone?

Thank you for sharing your awesome experience with us! :)

I'm itching to get rid of some of mine! =) lol

Has anyone else had a similar experience of removing raised/keloid scars or old dark or white scar marks by using MSM or Oil Pulling? I have both types of scars and would to get rid of them!

Thanks to all who have contributed to this thread. I'd love to see it pick up again. For about eight weeks, I have been taking MSM internally and topically using a coconut oil-turmeric-fumitory blend to diminish dark scarring across the bridge of my nose from a welding accident (burn). For four weeks, I have been eating about 90% raw, slowly working up to 100%. I've seen improvement but I still have a ways to go. I FEEL ALL-AROUND PHYSICALLY HEALTHIER, I hasten to note, and that's fantastic.

I would be willing to try oil pulling, I think. Folks who've seen their scars lighten and/or go away, which oil(s) have you been using?

I don't know if I am eating the best raw foods, or mixing in the optimum foods into my green smoothies, to work on this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks!
