Has anyone here GAINED weight (not neccessarily LOST weight but not gained it either) by eating all RAW and but sticking to high fruits, veggies & greens and fat once and awhile?
Just curious to know!

I personally went raw last year. From February 2006 to November 2006 and I lost 62 pounds.
Then I went through cold winter months and by the end of December, I was eating one cooked meal a day...simply because I was freezing and nothing could warm me up.
This slipped into me eating cooked regularly and here I am in August of this year starting back to raw.
I've been 100% for four days! Let me tell you the differences I have in my life.
In just four days half the weight I gained back, I've lost. So, my clothing fits again.
My period started this week...for the first time on schedule...in 4 months. {It's been over a week late every month.}
My acne is almost completely clear. After months of trying different over-the-counter medicines and washes haven't worked at all.
All in 4 days!
What am I eating? Everything, veggies, high-sugar fruits, avocados, nuts...you name it, if it is raw...I eat it. My body loves the stuff and it shows.
I'm actually thinking I may reach goal before the end of this year....that would be amazing.
Being raw does have it's down side...such as not getting to eat what everyone else does, but the perks are so much greater, they pale by comparison.
Keep strong...keep raw and be happy we have such a great natural tool to help regulate our bodies.
I've heard that others have to watch fats, or high-fruit, but I am not one of those people...and I'm grateful. Raw is my gift.

Wow that is SO amazing!! I wish so badly that I was experiencing all of those positive effects from eating RAW. I was 100% for over two months and then went back into eating more of 80-90% raw and I've gained alot of weight because I've been binging alot on raw and non-raw sweets. I feel frustrated because in the few months that i was 100%, I didnt lose a pound and I felt I over-indulged on raw treats and was bloated constantly and I never really got all of that energy, I did at first but then I think I gave up too fast... I definitely am trying to go back to eating 100% though because I know its the healthiest way for me.
Do you have a fast metabolism? Most of the people I know who have trouble losing on a raw diet are hypothyroid (which I am as well) so that makes it extremely hard to lose weight because our metabolisms are basically crap. Also, are you exercising everyday??
I'm so envious of how great you are feeling after JUST 4 days!!! you must feel so happy! I wish I could report the same effects... I want to get back into eating 100% maybe alot of this has to do with the fact that I'm having so many negative thoughts.... maybe I need to change my attitude!!

Britaniefaith...your transformation photos are amazing...which I know a lot of people have told you. You look stunning.
Eating whatever whenever as long as it's raw doesn't really work for me. It's not really a weight thing, but an energy thing. I have up to 7 raw meals a day. I skip meals if I don't feel like eating.
7am - Fruit
9am - Fruit
11am - Fruit
1pm - Fruit / vegetables / greens / sprouts
3pm - Fruit / vegetables / greens / sprouts
5pm - Fruit / vegetables / greens / sprouts
7pm - All acceptable raw food
Times are just a guide.
That way, for most of the day, you are eating just raw fruit and vegetables. You can look forward to a heavier raw meal in the evening if you wish. You could still eat a substantial lunch - such as a salad, with a dressing (avocado and orange or lemon juice and tomato for instance - blended of course), avocado and sprouts.
Maybe it doesn't have to be all-or-nothing. Maybe you should eat mostly fruit and vegetables, with one raw meal a day that can be anything you want. You don't want to be too rigid.

i think eat properly combined small meals and you will experience a surge of energy and an increased metabolism. that is what worked for me. i will gain weight if i eat a lot of fat, or "anything as long as its raw". im raw now, so its time i really balance what i eat. green smoothies are really where its at.

it's true, attitude plays such a huge role IMO! If i'm mad at something or frustrated and eat my food.... i feel like it does me no good actually  i try to calm down and enjoy every meal to get the most of it- energy, nutrients, satisfaction!
So far i HOPE i have not gained any. been raw for 1 month- i don't have scales- which is probably a good thing as many people say.... but i'm so curious- i want to weight myself :( i'll do it in a couple of days. My clothes don't feel smaller or anything, but sometimes i feel so....watery! maybe it's my period coming

That's a really good idea! The only thing that I get confused about is that some people say eating your heaviest meal is ideal in the morning because you have all day to burn off the calories and that it's better to eat light in the evening and then others say to eat just fruit/greens all day and leave your heaviest meal for later... so maybe it just depends on YOUR body, afterall we are all different... maybe I'll have to just experiment with it.
thanks!

Are you exercising? Getting a good sweat will do miracles to your body composition.
If anyone is having a hard time losing weight on Raw, then adding good exercise could make all the difference in the world. Like Dr. Graham says, "You can't be healthy if you're not fit."

Britaniefaith, some people say to make breakfast the biggest meal, some lunch, some say eat whatever, whenever...there are so many raw philosophies...
All you can do is experiment...
I find there is a certain radiance/energy/vibration/frequency (call it what you will) that raw fruit and vegetables gives you. At one stage I was having a nut milk for breakfast, fruit for lunch and salad for dinner. I just didn't have the same radiance as when I was eating fruit for breakfast... It's like the day takes on a certain tone, everything becomes more colourful, synchronicity is in the air when you build the energy density of the food as the day goes on. You don't necessarily have to eat more in the evening, or a lot. But you want to be able to eat without fear. You don't want to restrict your calories too much and slow down your metabolism. You don't want to be dissatisfied. This way you spend the bulk of the day eating just fresh, raw fruit and vegetables. I think we will all agree that this is optimal...compared with the majority being nuts and dehydrated food. This way you have dinner to look forward to, and you get that sense of satisfaction after eating denser raw foods (if you wish) in the evening. Let us know how you go.

Absolutely, I agree with the last post, fresh raw is best. Nuts, seeds, and dehydrated are great additions for those weak moments we all have, but fresh foods are the best over all choices. The more fresh the better.
Secondly, I kept trying to come back to raw...kept trying...kept trying...with no luck. I was so upset, then I realized I was coming back only to drop a few pounds. That doesn't work for me. It has to be the knowledge that my body is healthier that motivates...and nothing else. The weight is my bonus! Does that make any sense??? It's weird, but try. It's my mind set that makes or breaks me for raw.
Keep focused on something that doesn't ever change...raw is healthy. Beyond any other way to lose weight out there....raw is healthy. You are doing what is good for your body...the weight loss is a bonus...not the only goal!
You have done great...you are doing great...keep it up! You are beautiful inside and out! You can do it!
