Well today is day one and I've been 100% so far. I'm going for 30, so I'll need all the help I can get. My daughter comes home for the summer in a month and I really want to make an honest effort to feel better before she gets home.

So last week I was camping in Yosemite with my husband and something happened that I'm not sure I can explain.
Since January 10th I have not had any meat at all (not that I was ever a huge meat eater to begin with) but the 10th was a good day for me to start really changing the way I eat, and that is also when I discovered the journey to Raw. (plus had just turned 40, so I suppose it was a pinnicle if you will.)
Anyway, last week I had a couple of pieces if D's steak. I could tell I didn't really care for it and that my taste for it had toatlly changed, it wasn't even good and to tell the the truth the minute I ate it felt like I had hit a brick wall. But i thought ok no big deal. Then the next day I was bent down tying my up my boots and I couldn't get up. My middle/lower back had such an intese pain for a couple of minutes, I had never felt anything like it before. And I am someone who has spent many years backpacking and camping and doing whatever, with no problems ever not even a twinge.

Has my body adjusted to no meat and to being 80-90% for a couple of months that much already? Has anyone else had a similar experience?

As hard as this is sometimes I know it's the real deal. I mean, from Jan 10th to a little after Valetines day when I was doing really really good at this I felt like a kid again.

I am so grateful for this site and all that everyone has to share. I swear that sometimes I would have a question that I thought was silly and no one would ever have the same question, then I'd look on the site and Bam there's that question I thought was so silly. It feels good to know that other people have the same questions or experiences and that were not in this alone.

Just thought I'd share,
Hope everyone has a great evening,
Cam :)

I know that when I eat 100% or closer to 100% raw, my body is so much more flexible and painfree. Now after a period of junkfood I have trouble getting out of bed in the morning due to pains all over and a general feeling that all the muscles are too short. I get stiff if I'm not constantly moving... but when I eat properly the stiffness is totally gone!

Congrats on your decision to go for 30 days! :D

Thanks. I'm hoping I never have that bad feeling in my back or for that matter anywhere else ever again.

I just think it's just so amazing how are bodies just know what we should be eating and not eating, and it definitely lets us know.
