Lately whenever I eat any dark chocolate (non raw) or completely raw cocoa nibs I get blurred vision and heart palpitations and I feel so nauseous... it's horrible and it lasts all night. Does this mean I have an allergy to cocoa or could it be that I have a problem with caffeine?? I'm really nervous because I just ate alot of cocoa nibs and I'm sitting here feeling like I'm going insane, my heart is beating so fast and I'm so dizzy :(

Hi Britaniefaith-
I get the same reaction to raw cacao and sometimes to cooked dark chocolate if I eat too much of it. It does kind of feel like I drank too much coffee though so it could just be the excess caffeine or something...
I still eat it on occasion anyway...:o
PS- Your before and after pics are great! You look gorgeous and radiantly healthy! Congratulations!

i can't say much about your chocolate question(don't seem to have any negative reaction to it) but i have to say your Before&After pics are AMAZING! Great job!

i would say its the caffeine. i have pretty negative reactions to it as well. i just get really messed up and feel like im on drugs. which is what caffeine is. im a chocoholic though so every now and then i just go for it. not ready to give it up yet

To slow don't your heart rate, breathe in for 5 seconds, hold for 5 seconds and breathe out of 5 seconds. You may feel light headed but do it a few time until you feel your heart rate/pulse lowering. I would lay off the caffeine for a while. The body handles caffeine differently after it goes raw.

I felt the same and had to give it up I would be awake all night with my head buzzing, raw or cooked had the same effect. Chewing on cardamoms throught the day is supposed to help.
