Ok, I looked at a few posts here and still am a little confused.
I get the impression that although freeze dried fruit is not RAW, it is LIVE. What's everyone's idea on this. Is it okay to eat?

If you dehydrate fruit yourself or it is sundried it is raw and live. If you freeze it, it just puts the enzymes to sleep until they are thawed.

I feel freeze dried fruit is still okay to eat. I've eaten freeze dried pineapple and the enzymes hurt my mouth in the same way that fresh pineapple does. I don't eat it a lot, but I like it because I enjoy the textures of freeze dried fruit. It makes me feel like I'm eating something a little bit more special that other stuff that I eat :)

I freeze lots of my fruit for smoothies...
does that mean they are no longer *living*?

Folks, Freeze Dried is totally different than frozen.
Freeze drying is based on sublimation, taking water directly from ice to vapor.
Freeze drying involves HEAT although the term sounds like it doesn't.
You can google it or whatever.
To me freeze dried is not raw, just my opinion.
