I am about two weeks into this and tonite suddenly my head started swirling, nausea kicked in and several times I thought I was going to vomit. I actually pulled out the trash can in anticipation. Last year I became unexpectedly ill and had to have an emergency surgery...it's reminding me of that time, but after doing a little research I am aware that these are the toxins being kicked into my bloodstream. How can I let them out LOL! Oh my goodness I feel sick to my stomach...what will make me feel better?...what should I eat or drink tomorrow or avoid?...I am so glad this happened to me on a weekend when everyone happened to cancel everything...

Drink Plenty of Water, when you feel like this, try to lay down if at all possible.......

I get that too every now and then. It was more common when I first went raw. I actually woke up in the middle of the night feeling like I was going to vomit any second. It was horrible. It went away but lately, I've been getting mild nausea. I make a simple ginger "ale" with fresh grated ginger, lemon, sparkling water and agave (or nothing else). That seems to be the only thing that helps since (more) plain water just makes me feel worse.

Without knowing what you ate or are also doing, it's really hard to give advice. As Victoria Boutenko says, done right, these kinds of things should not be happening.
I'd suggest a series of colonics or enemas if things aren't coming out the channels they "should" be coming out in.

It "sounds" like your body cleansing process has kicked in big time. Don't worry about it. I know feeling sick is a really yucky thing to go through but it will pass. Unless it is something you have eaten and has not agreed with you it could just be that your colon needs a good cleaning. What I have learned is that when the colon is congested sometimes the toxins can backwash into the stomach causing nausea. But, it will pass. Try not to put too much importance on "what should I eat/what shouldn't I eat". Listen to your body. Give it what it needs even if it means just drinking water all day.
EDIT: What I would suggest is giving your digestion a break by making sure your diet is all liquid (or almost all at least). Juices, smoothies and plenty of water.
Rest and you'll feel better!!
Much love x

The best remedy I know of is a colon cleanse ~ colon hydrotherapy. It should help get everything out quicker. You could try just juicing for a day as well.... GOOD LUCK!

Might I recommend a hot salt bath? That will gently pull the toxins out through your pores.

If you are detoxing, this is to be expected. Ginger ale sounds wonderful and in addition to that I would do a baking soda/salt enema (1 tsp each) with warm distilled water and juice fast for the rest of the day.
The intestines are alkaline and if you are detoxing that means that your bowels are becoming acidic, which can affect the way your tummy feels. Baking soda makes the bowels more alkaline and salt pulls the toxins out of the walls.

most of the posts in the thread are excellent advice.. i only have one other little tid bit which is a temporary but very effective measure:
mint..
if you can get some fresh sprigs, chew em up and swallow 'juice and all' on the spot..this is one of the herbal remedies for feelings of nausea.
mint tea of any type ..purchased from the supermkt is better than nothing.altho it is often not very fresh..
or blend in water with whatever else helps..a bit of mint..
hope you are feeling better soon.

I'm so sorry you're going thru this! I know when detox hit me like this - I just pushed thru it -- meaning - I laid down in bed with a bucket VERY CLOSE BY and did a lot of complaining and groaning!! (lol ;) !) Also drinkng water ALWAYS helps to flush toxins out of the body. thin slices of ginger or mint also helps alleviate nausea... ((hugs)) feel better soon!!

Thank you so much for your support everyone...it's a wonderful feeling to know that we are not alone. Today I dragged myself out of the house to go grocery shopping as I was running on empty. There is a new Ralph's here in Downtown L.A.. Here is what transpired: Checker: 'what's this?' I cheerfully replied 'sundried tomates' (what I'm going to use them for I have no idea, just thought I would experiment)...Checker: 'and this is?' Reply: mint. Checker: my aunt has cancer and diabetes, Reply: You need to tell your aunt about the 'raw food diet'...which I am seriously considering also dubbing as: 'the new health insurance diet' ...Checker: what's that? Reply: all the food you see here. Checker (after checking out all of my 'ancient' foods): Boy, that was an education.
I am feeling much better. I absolutely love mint and eat it everyday in smoothies, drinks, but will definitely eat it raw next time I feel that ill. Can't take the taste of ginger though, but will try it as an 'ale' at least once.
Btw, exactly how does one perform an enema?
Big Raw Kiss Everyone.
