Has anyone tried to put the whole watermelon in the smoothie rind and all?
Is it edible?

The green rind (not the peel) is edible. (Remembering fondly Grandma's watermelon rind preserves...ummmm...wonder if I can make a raw version????)

On page 168 of Jay Kordich's book "the Juiceman's Power of Juicing" he recommends using the rind as well as the inner part and says that there are many nutrients in the rind.

The rind is not only edible but more nutritious. It is, however, bitter. I would recommend juicing it if you wish to consume it.

Ok
So I can just put the whole watermelon in.
I'm not sure what the peel is.
I just ate some raw and it does not taste good but in a smoothie I can cover that up with some banana.

When I have juiced it I have cut the rind into strips that would go into the juicer along with the inside but I don't put very much rind in because as iamacranberry said the rind dos't taste all that great.

Margi (raw cancuk) said that the rind is edible and also good for weight loss. She was telling me to juice it -- I asked her if it was bitter and she said not that she had noticed! Let us know if you do juice it!!! :D I'd be interested to know how it tastes.

If I get an organic one I cut the inside in chunks but I leave about half an inch of flesh on the rind and juice all of that.
Drink the juice first and then eat the flesh.
