Hi, I started eating mostly raw last week (after 30 years of SAD) I look to eat more raw during the next few weeks. Unfortunately my circle of friends and family (especially hubby) are defintately not on board (yet) and look at me wierd. I would love to have a buddy along with me. I've gotten pretty overwhelmed viewing the threads and would like to narrow down to a few buddies.
p.s I'm also tying to get pregnant and would love to share that experience with someone as well.
Hope to talk to you soon.

There are Texans here.....Why not do a "SEARCH" at the top of this page and see if there is someone close to you. Also check out meetup.com, this is a group who share RAW Meals Monthly.
Don't let this Forum OverWhelm you, just take your time, don't try to enjest it all at once. We are Always here for you if you don't find someone near you.
I wish you everything you need to Stay RAW......Welcome to MY World.

Hi! Welcome aboard!
There are some fantastic threads for raising a raw family and pregnancy. Feel free to ask questions!
Also, I got a lot of great information and recipes from Alissa's book. I don't have the DVD personally but I hear it's great too!!!

Welcome!
You got good advice from spicyfull. (meetup.com)
Maybe if you buy Alissa's book and DVD you will learn some recipes to entice your husband. (Kind of all depends - mine insists that he gets weak if he doesn't get his meat - but there are women on here who have gotten their husbands on the raw diet.)

A big Texas greeting to ya!!
I'm from Houston. I don't know where in Texas you are, however, I'm always happy to meet a new rawbie! I'm one myself, having been for about 5 months now. I love this lifestyle!I have to tell you, even my dh who is a full blown meat and potatoes kind of man, has jumped on my wagon ON HIS OWN!!! It did take some time though.
It seemed he actually likes the way he is feeling. He had to admit to me the other day that "I actually feel so much better".
I am mostly 100% (90% on some days)......dh is approx 80%raw.
No one else in our family are raw and that's ok....as they see us get healthier it may become more enticing. I have hope for everyone.
Welcome to raw!!:D

I'm in Austin. Where's Little Elm? I might have to map quest it to see. I'm getting ready to start my own 30 day (part 1 of 12) challenge on the 1st.

Just joined this web site a few hours ago. I started moving toward raw diet about 3 weeks ago and now, trying to really incorporate 100% into busy life. I live in Denton, so we are practically neighbors.:o :)

I’m not a perfect person….I found a reason for me to change who I used to be….a reason to start over new…and the reason is me..

Hey Jules, looks like we started raw about the same time. and we live way close. lets keep in touch and keep each other going. I slipped a little today, but had my first restaurant experience asking for raw veggies! Worked out great and was very liberating. hope to keep up!

Thanks for all the great advice. meetup.com was excellent. I found a group nearby that hosts all sorts of raw food events. I am so excited!
