Has anyone had problems with your Breville juicer?
I purchased a Breville JE 900 last July and after using it 4-5 (infrequent) times over a 10 month period, it just "died" - does nothing when I plug it in.
I keep hearing good things about Breville juicers, but I am concerned about buying another one. The Breville Juice Fountain Plus and the Breville Elite were recently recommended.
I've considered the Jack Lalanne, but it seems very heavy and I don't know anyone who has used it consistently.
I don't want to spend more than about $150 on one with a shoot that handles whole fruit. Any comments or recommendations?

I have a Breville juicer, and I haven't had any problems with mine so far. I've had it almost a year. I used it everyday for the first month or so & then got bored with it, and now just use it maybe a couple times a month.

Thanks Spicyfull and Garden Granny. I just came from the store, where I looked at the Jack Lalanne (again) and the Juiceman Jr. The Jack Lalanne is heavy and two salespeople in the store could not help me to figure out how it comes apart - couldn't get the blade/basket out. I wonder how the Juiceman Junior compares to the Jack Lalanne and the Breville Juice Fountain Plus or Elite. Anybody know? Meanwhile, I'll just keep looking.

Hi !
if the warranty is not over, why don'T you ask for a new one to the company?
It is an idea just like that. :)

Libellue, Thanks for the suggestion. It's one that has been considered. However, I misplaced the receipt and warranty paperwork (did not mail in any registration when I got it). When I first plugged it in and it was "dead" I reasoned that surely I must have just plugged put it together while it still had water on it or something and that it would work next time - after all, I had not had any problems with it before and had not used it much at all. Anyway, it was a while before I tried to use it again - and no warranty.
Which juicer to you have?

I have the pricey ($400) Breville and it is very heavy duty - works very well, no complaints. I have had it for a year and use it daily. Clean up takes 3.5 minuets!:)

Hi. I love the Breville juicer. It is incredibly fast (although loud, so do your juicing during the day when you won't bother your neighbors--if your a renter like me). I cured myself of cancer with a raw juice diet for 30 days. I did it all on the Breville juicer. It's a heavy duty piece of machinery. If your serious about juicing, this is the one for you.
Just my two cents.
Whatever you do don't buy the Waring brand they sell at Sams Club right now. I bought it and after 3 uses it died. I think similar to your experience it was faulty right from the start and I didn't realize it. I thought it was our outlet and then realized it was the juicer itself. I have an cheapy one ($50.00 Braun) that is small and use it several times a week and have had it for years. I just wanted a larger one but now I think I will wait to buy a real good one or just wait til this one dies.

Thanks everyone for the encouraging feedback about the Breville. After much confusion and worry, I finally bought the Breville Juice Foutain Plus today. Macy's advertised it on sale for $150 (regular $190); Bed Bath Beyond had it regularly priced at $150 and there was a 20% off coupon in the paper today, so I got it for $120. That made me feel a little better about buying it. This time I will put the receipt/warranty away safely, but hope this one lasts a lot longer than the previous one. Will start using it tomorrow to begin my new weight loss journey.

Morn, Congratulations on your transformation. I just looked at our photos for the 3rd time - it's all quite inspiring to me! I'll be starting my personal journal with the aide of my new juicer tomorrow and hope to have similar success.
