I hear mixed things about fat. Some don't have to watch at all bc its raw and seem to be loseing weight just fine and others are gaining with raw fats? What kind of fats do you eat? I think this can play a big part in it. Im trying not to eat a lot of nuts and i rarely eat seeds so the fats that make up my diet are coconut and avocados. Has anyone here lost weight by eating more fat and what kind? I find that coconut is the best fat if u really want to lose weight. It totally kills my appetite.

I just eat whatever I want, right now. I've neither lost nor gained a ton of weight, just floated around. When I naturally eat veggies more, I lose. When I want to eat a bag of cashews, I gain. I figure this is a lesson in vanity for me, and not looking perfect all the time. I'm trying to re-learn just how to eat what I truly want (raw) without feeling guilty or questioning it.
For the past week I've eaten about 1/6 - 1/3 avocado a day, plus maybe 1/2 cup - 1 full cup nuts per day. But that's not my norm.

I'm not normally a big nut person, but I love avocadoes. I try to limit those to 3 or 4 a week, if that.
I use coconut oil though, and flax oil on salads.

I tend to drink nut milk once a day, an avocado and sometimes a coconut once a day. I also add coconut oil to my smoothies, but not all the time. If I go out, Ill have more nuts, but its definitely not daily. I dont count, but I'm not one to eat more than a handful of nuts at a time. At the same time, I need some amount of fat daily. I cant do low-fat diets.

When I started to eat just fruits and veggies and very little fat(no oils or salt), I started feeling much better than before on raw everything. I never have weakness or am overly tired like before. Well, today is just my 8 day, but difference is huge!
I also notice that nuts make me bloated even in small amounts. I will try to soak them from now on and eat them rarely. Durian and avocado is probably better choice. Once in a while I have grind up flaxseeds in my smoothie.

Ah Barose, I love knowing that there are others out there who thrive on the fats!

i find that if i avoid all fat, i overeat fruit to the point of being really bloated and i still feel hungry. coconut oil, completely allows me to be satisfied. its wonderful.

Its amazing how different we are. I wonder if needing more fat has to do with blood type or body type.

I'm not a big fat eater. I think all that low fat dieting back in the 80's did something to me. I've seen three dieticians and all three told me I needed to add some fat to my diet. They advocated margarine. Eek!
These days about the only fat I get is a small amount in corn, coconut oil (I try to eat 1 to 2 T. per day), some olive oil and nuts. I hate avocadoes.

I eat far too much fat.
At least 2 avocados a day, often more plus liberal amounts of olive/flax oil, coconut cream, nuts........
I eat far too much of everything but I don't think I'm overweight. Veg makes me put on weight.....if I eat just fruit and nuts the weight melts off me very very quickly.

I'm just going to stop buying nuts haha
I'm in love with coconut and avocados.
I don't know the fat differences between them, but ..apparently coconut and avocado are better?

that's my plan for last RAWgust week- I JUST WON't BUY NUTS!! I do overeat them if they are available.
I don't feel guilty aboud avocados at all, they satisfy me- they're my saver :D but i don't eat That much of them either. The other fats i have is olive oil and sunflower seeds (it's a good thing they don't taste That great when raw, so i don't eat too many) plus coconut when i have one.
