Hi Guys,
I first saw Alissa program and book on the Tyra Banks Show. And since I have recently started to study natural medicine, it looked very interesting.
BUT I am a meat eater and a dairy eater and I'm looking to bring some more balance to my diet as well as loose weight.
I'm wondering how much work goes into preparing all this, as I'm not the only one who prepares my meals, I am a bit scared.
Does anyone think that the philosophy behind it is still beneficial if I stuck to raw "as much as I could"??
Is it something I should jump stright into or build up to it slowly....I really do love food and there are some things that I know I just couldn't do without but summer is approaching fast here in OZ and everyone looks so wonderfully fit and healthy. I exercise quite a bit and do make good food choices but I think I could make better one.
Am I in the right place??
And advice you could give me would be greatly apprecited.

It is called "transition" when you are going from standard American (Australian) diet (SAD) to raw. Some people take years. Some people do it instantly. You can just make sure you have lots of fruits and vegetables around and just mono eat them - keep it real simple.

Hi Rabbit,

I was the same way...I loved meat and loved dairy. In fact, before I went raw, I was always a low-carb eater. '

I've since changed my mind. For me...I went 100% raw right away...I did not transition. I also quick drinking coffee and anything with caffeine. Before this I was eating all natural and organic. I decided that If I was going to detox, I wanted to get it over with...I didn't want to drag it out.

Since going raw...I don't crave meat...ever!!! I also don't crave dairy. I think for the first time in my life I'm giving my body what it really needs. I have more energy with no caffeine? Who woulda thunk?

As far as how hard to prepare the meals? Very easy...I am a mom with two teens...and they aren't 100% raw, although they are very close to being. I am able to cook for them...I make them meat about twice a week, and prepare my meals with ease. Did I mention that I also homeschool? Well, that's how easy this is...you can easily do this. Keep it simple. If you're busy, just grab some fruit or a quick salad. The recipes in Allissa's book are very easy, tasty and practical.

I should also tell ya that I have a good food processor, but I don't have a dehydrator ....yet!! :p

So my advice would be to just take the leap and go all the way...100%

Why don't you just try it for 30 days...make a 30 day commitment and see how you feel. That's how I got hooked. ;)
