help, I'm suffering from really bad wind. so bad I don't want to socialise right now. always had it bad on and off, but really hoped the raw eating would help. Alissa says a lot of people experience wind for one week into the raw eating, but I'm into week 6 and it just seems to get worse. Also I have MS which really seems to be linked with my digestion. The worse my digestive symptoms are the worse my walking, fatigue ...
Has anyone experienced the same for such a long time? I've been wondering weather digestive enzymes and/or probiotis can help. Any experience with these? I'm desperate

How do you combine foods? Do you follow proper food combing at all? I get really windy when I dont.

don't really think about food combining too much right now. My main focus is just on staying raw. What would be the main things I shouldn't do? I follow a lot of Alissa's recipes. Not sure if all of them are proper combined? You couldn't really have fruit cakes than, could you? Just left the almond milk out of my green smoothies this morning but kept the flax seed in.
now I'm confused.
Will definitely start taking enzymes and probably have a colonic too :o

When I used to get gassy really bad I would just put my Ipod on, turn that sucker up full blast, and go for a walk, and just BOMB ON anyone I was walking bye... children, elderly folk, didn't matter... I took no prisoners!

It was quite fun!!!!!!!!!!;)

When I used to get gassy really bad I would just put my Ipod on, turn that sucker up full blast, and go for a walk, and just BOMB ON anyone I was walking bye... children, elderly folk, didn't matter... I took no prisoners!

It was quite fun!!!!!!!!!!;)

sounds hilarious! I always count on the fact that no one would assume it is a girl doing it.
did you manage to get rid of it though?

One problem may be that you are combining the wrong foods together. This does not have a negative effect on everyone, but some people are very sensitive.

Eat fruit separate from other foods and allow 1/2 hour before ingesting proteins (like nuts). The fruit and nut combo is the worst! I know what your thinking....so many recipes mix these two items.

Keep a log for a few days and notice what foods aggravate your system. You may need to lightly steam some of your veggies to break down the cellulose...especially "harder" veggies like cauliflower, string beans, cabbage. Steam them for two minutes or until the brighten in color. You lose some enzymes but better to lose a few enzymes than all your friends!:cool:

im sorry to hear about your MS, my dad struggled with it all my life, i wish i had known more about raw foods when he was still alive. as for gas....i get terrible cramps and vile gas when i eat some seeds, such as pumpkin seeds, or sunflower seeds, and wheatgrass, but nothing else. Maybe you have the same reaction to the flax seeds? I'm not sure, but if they are an every day staple, and you have the problem every day? I sprinkle some in salads here and there and haven't had a problem, but judging by how some other seeds treat me, they could be the culprat!

has anyone done food sensitivity testing? wonder if that would come up with what might cause gas

Your 6 weeks in, your body is adjusting. Dont let alarmists make you think its something very serious. Your body is adjusting, just relax and laugh about it. I can eat anything now, fruits nuts, and not have gas. In the beginning though, I know that enzymes digestive enzymes would have helped. Until then, just eat all the raw you can, let your body adjust. Enjoy the journey. If after months and your still farting up the alphabet... then it will be time to re-evaluate, until then LAUGH AND FART... Enjoy the good times.:D
