Is anyone else experiencing this? It takes very little food to satisfy me now. I can eat off of one meal all day. It's really pretty incredible because I'm eating maybe 1/3 of what I'd been eating during the course of a day. Sometimes I look at the quantity of food I've eaten and think "This can't be enough". But, my tummy is actually feeling stuffed. Is this permanent? Does the body make some sort of shift after a while? I get full really fast. I used to eat like I was filling up a Hummer, now it's like filling up a Hyundai. What going on?

I loove your examples!! from Hummer to Hyundai!! you are soo cute! I think our bodies are getting the nutrients it needs... plus there is a lot of mental and emotional work we are doing too... to get away from emotional eating etc... so we are learning to listen to our bodies and that's a good thing.
Somedays I can take 2 or 3 bites and be so full... it's confusing... then other days - I'm back to fillin that hummer!! I just go with the flow... and trust my body is smart enough to know how much it is needing.
You're doin great!! VERY AWESOME!
BUT MAKE SURE YOU'RE STILL DRINKING PLENTY OF WATER!!

I'm curious, how long have you been raw?

My personal best
One meal
I could eat 1 wendy’s triple
1 cordon blue sandwich
1 large chili
2 large fries (came with the 2 meals)
Super size coke.
And I finished my wife’s fries!
Now I eat a mango or 2 for a meal
I think the quality of food is why we eat less. We get just what we need from far less food.

Carla, I've been raw since June. I'm not 100%, but I'm high raw and occassionally have cooked vegan meals.

I have said before that I was an :
*overfed chick who was undernourished.*
When eating Raw-you are getting truly nourished ! It's real food.

Nope this has never happened to me in the last two years since I went raw.
I have always had a big appetite though. Even when I get sick I still am hungry and eat. :)
Maybe someday!

Me too. I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing. I've been 100% raw since I started and after the first part of my detox, it seems I just cant slow my appetite down. :) I was NOT like this on a cooked diet.

It takes less for me too. Also, I'm not running to the vending machines at work to get a Milky Way (or two) anymore either. lol Thank god for the brownie recipe in Raw Food Made Easy for 1 or 2 people!

Okay.....I hate everyone that can eat two mango's and be full. Just kidding!
I am hungry all the time. I eat more now than I ever have before. Sometimes I think I eat more just because I can but I am also wondering when I will be able to get by with less.
On the other hand, I was reading this article about this guy who forages while hiking and he said his goal in life was to get down to eating just a handful of berries a day. That can't be healthy for you and what would possess someone to make such a goal? World peace would be a good goal or feeding starving children around the world.....but eating a handful of berries? I want to taste life, not avoid it.

When I'm raw I do sometimes notice feeling fuller faster, but I usually digest it much quicker and am hungry much sooner than I would've been with cooked food.

I have been Raw for 15 months And I definitely eat less than when I started. I ate a lot more dehydrated foods than I do now. I do love desserts though & always have some after dinner. I feel more satisfied now than in the beginning.

I noticed that since I started adding more greens & green powder to my green smoothies and having cacao smoothies w/ coconut oil in them that I eat a LOT less than before.
When I packed lunch for work before, I'd need a small cooler because I brought so much food and I'd be starving by the time I got home. Now I bring some green smoothie & a couple of pieces of fruit and get a sm salad from the cafe.
Now I only get really hungry if I exercise lots more than usual. :)

I hope I can get to the point that I eat less and feel full faster. This stuff is expensive.

Depends on the day. Some days I am SO full, and when I look back at the day, realize I have hardly eaten anything. Other days, I eat, and eat, and eat, and eat, and oh, did I mention EAT?!;) :D I just go with the flow of what my body is showing me it does or doesn't need and NOT worry about it. My body is smarter than I used to give it credit for. I know that now.:D

When I eat raw foods with no cheating my hunger gets lighter and I don't eat as much. When I cheat and eat cooked foods my hunger is out of control when I start back eating raw. It is like I am starting over again. When I first started eating raw foods I ate a lot of it. It really only takes a cooked meal or two to start the crazy eating cycle.

ive been 100 percent for 7 months and i DEFINITELY eat less. well, that is when i listen to my body. you see, i grew up with a sit down dinner 5 nights a week and a solid 4 or 5 big meals a day (its a wonder i didnt get fat). i love food. its just such an emotional thing for me. but nowadays i really dont eat very much. i excersise a lot everyday but i just dont need more than a couple green smoothies all day. today i had a glass of carrot juice like 5 hours after i woke up and then a few hours later i had some romaine wraps with some avocado celery spinach concoction i made up, and i probably wont eat the rest of the day. my metabolism has just slowed down so much. also, breatharianism is my eventual goal so i think the universe is saying "we are giving you what you're asking for... now do you really want to give up food quite yet?" at which i respond "yeaa,.... but i want to eat a lot too". im not sending out very good signals. but i suppose it is better this way as i can save money and learn to appreciate the vast wonders of life without worrying about food. whatever is happening, i am just trying to embrace it all and flow with my purpose.

I totally agree Stacie! I can understand people wanting to stop the cycle of emotional eating, and start to eat intuitively, but that sounds to me like starving yourself....plus, there's no way you're getting anywhere NEAR the amount of nutrients you need to sustain a healthy body. I find that, like many here, I eat more some days than others. I'm finding that I can eat a waaay smaller breakfast on raw, and it will last me longer than the huge cooked breakfast I used to eat. Also, I can go longer between meals without that hunger feeling, which is always nice!
