Anyone have Dr. Graham's book, "Nutrition and Athletic Performance"? If so, what do you think of it?

I will be training for a marathon for the next six months and I want to have some sports nutrition info that works with the raw lifestyle.

In the training program, they tell you to eat lots of carbs and salt, and this obviously doesn't work for me, hehehe!

Any book reviews/recommendations?

Thanks!
-Bethany =)

I have not read that ,but would be VERY interested (im an eventer ,and need to start training to get on a college equestrian team) I feel really better when I eat lower salt , med-sugar fruits ,water and hemp protein ,fats make me lethargic ,and I need to feel light when riding ........

I have the book and I enjoyed reading it. I use some of the info when I'm coaching my clients. It has great info about how to eat before, during, and after workout routines. It discusses how to eat enough carbs, and how to make energy drinks that replace gatorade. I think you would enjoy it!

I combine Graham's book with some of Viktoras Kulvinskas' books. Viktoras also discusses how to eat for workouts. Viktoras recommends eating enzyme supplements and Klamath blue-green algae (E3 Live or Cell Tech) after workouts.

Thanks for the info, Mike! I'm sure VeganVixen and I would benefit from such a book...

I ordered a copy online.
