Eye mucous!

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this:
I'm been doing a smoothie fast since 8-13-07. On 8-17-07 my eyes started excreting a ton of greenish yellow mucous after I did a sauna. By the next morning it was better, but each morning since then I wake up with blurry mucous filled eyes. And my eyes cannot tolerate my contacts at all. If I put them in they start excreting mucous. I guessed that this was some sort of detox-pushing out toxins from lens solution etc, but now I'm wondering if I have an infection . There is no burning or itching and the whites look pretty white. I'm thinking of starting a Rue Fennel compound wash tonight.
Anyone else had this with detox?

I don't wear contacts but I did go thru an eye uooogy stuff phase... rather yucky! But my eyes also felt really dry -- like the sahara desert - and so it was very odd. Dry eyes ~ but yet in the morning I'd wake up with all this mucous caked around my eyes... very gross. It lasted about 1 week... Oh... there was occasionally itchyness too.... but that came and went.

Try this - dissolve one tsp of honey in one cup of warm water. Make a compress for each eye with cotton pads or wash cloths wet with this solution. You could also wash out the eye with this. Always worked wonders when my kids were starting up with some pink eye. Honey is a natural antiseptic. And if it's not an infection, at least you got to rest with some warm compresses on your eyes. I had eye goop too and they itched like I had allergies.

I didn't have mucus, but had a lot of sores around my eyes. I haven't had any lately so maybe I am finished detoxing from my eyes.

No...no eye goop, but severely bloodshot eyes and sometimes a little crustiness in the morning. I have heard of a lot of people with the goop though.

I keep having a sharp crusty buildup in the corner of my eyes as well...I didn't think anything of it...so it's a detox thing??? whoa!
