Hi Everyone,

Was wondering if anyone has come up with a raw icing recipe to use for piping decoration on a cake. I am making a raw carrot cake with raw cream cheese frosting for my birthday (Aug. 25) to share with friends. I want to pipe roses on top and have tried to make vegan buttercream icing (not raw) following recipes I found. I've tried all kinds of unraw, but vegan ingredients to replace eggs and butter and could not get the icing to fluff up, even with an electric mixer on high speed. I would prefer to make a raw icing. Can anyone help? Thanks!

I'd be very interested in this, too. Does anyone have a recipe for piping cake frosting?

Cheers! :)

I know it's a little past your birthday (HAPPY BELATED)... but I have an idea. I made 'Michaels Cheesecake' from goneraw.com. I think the 'cheese' would make a great icing for a carrot cake. It has a really good consistency for it.
Hope that helps!

This is a cake Erin made. She said she just added some almond flour to the frosting to make it thicker..then used a plastic bag to do the piping.

The frosting recipe is from Rawkinlocs cinnamon rolls. And we added some orange zest.

I am going to start selling them whole here at my juice bar so people can order them for special occasions and we can put a personal message on the top.

it's alissa's carrot cake from her book. I did a search and used rawlinlocs ideas for making it less mushy and how to make it into a layered cake. Here is the link for that info..

and here is the frosting recipe from rawkinlocs cinnamon rolls...

Frosting:
3 TBS. honey or agave (or more to taste)
3 TBS. orange juice or lemon (for more of a “cream cheese-type” frosting) – Add more if needed to make it smoother or more of an icing to drizzle
1 c. cashews (I prefer soaking them)
Dash of sea salt
¼ - ½ tsp. vanilla. (I use a 1/4 to 1/2 vanilla bean)

we add some orange zest to the frosting for a gourmet taste.
