I ordered 3 packs of detox patches for my feet through a company called Avon. Last night I used them for the first time.
I just wanted to share with you all what happens when you use them. They are white before you put them on and then you sleep with them on the bottom of your feet. Peel off in the morning and they should have changed colour. Many toxins in your body come out and get absorbed into the pads. I think I'm fairly healthy so I didn't think I would see much but OH WOW!
The pads turned black green, the middle is a little bit dry because I didnt have the center pressed tight enough against my feet but the rest of it is green and as I peeled off the pads green slim peeled off too and the pads smelt rank like BBQ sauce!!
But I am soooo stoked that they worked! So here are some pictures!

I use those too! The first time I used them, I could feel my circulation pulsing through my leg and it kept me up at night. Sometimes, my leg would even cramp up. When I got to the second box, the pads were getting lighter and lighter, so I knew they were working. (The first pad I used came off BLACK). Can you send a link to the site where you got them? I bought mine off taoofherbs.com, and they were a little pricey, but worth it. Also, when I got my first box, they sent me a card & envelope to mail them a used foot pad for lab testing. I had arsenic, ispropoyl (sp?) alcohol and other toxins that came out on the pad through my feet!

WOW no way!!
That is cool that you could get them tested! Mine didn't come with that!
Mine are from Avon.ca ( I hope I can post that)
And mine came with 6 in a pack for 12.99.
When I used them I noticed a cooling sensation where the pad was.. almost like when you get out of a hot shower and the air touches your skin. But thats all. This morning I felt really energized. More than usual.. I duno if that was the pads or just all in my head :p

Oh my gosh! I have never heard of these. That's amazing. Reminds of those Biore strips you put across your nose and when you peel it off it looks like a porcupine form all of the junk it pulls out of your pores. Ick!
I wanna try these. Thanks for posting!

I showed your foot patches to hubby last night and it amazed him enough that we are buying some tomorrow. I just happened to have an Avon catalog left at my door a couple of days ago. Coincidence? :) I'll let you know if anything neat happens after I get them.

I've heard these are great too. There are people who do this to. They put your feet in a bath of some solution and the water turns yucky colors. My brother did it at a spa. The feet are a great way to release stuff from the body. Think of it...gravity....you are on your feet most of the time... I put a piece of aloe on my daughter's friends foot one night because she had a sore. The next day it was all black!

I was doing a search to see if I could find a home recipe to try this but came up with an experiment that gives a different story. http://herballure.com/Studies/IonicFootSpa.html
I am still going to get the foot pads and I am still looking for a home solution. I wanna see for myself. :) If anyone knows of a recipe for a foot soak please post it.

I'm not really an Avon fan (too much animal testing in the past I guess).
Interesting. I've been looking at a lot of the detox foot patch web sites. I won't get any that contain this, IF I get any at all:
◎ Chitosan
This is originated in Chitin in Hokkaido crab (red sea king crab) etc. As a water-soluble, natural and high molecular substance, it has an excellent moistening and membrane-forming effect, which protects skin.
It seems like so many of them contain this. I can't justify putting the body of these crabs on my feet...just goes against my Vegan ways....hmmmmm....

Very interesting. I am not thrilled about this ingredient:
"Chitosan is derived from chitin, the main fiber component of crustacean shells"
That's not exactly kosher in my book.

I use those, too, but they're not from Avon. The first time I used them, the pads looked like yours, but they pulled out a little blood, too. I don't know why. Since then, they haven't pulled out blood.

Kelly
If you're willing to search the entries, you can find them on eBay for ridiculously cheap prices for large quantities. Most listings do have the ingredients listed so you can find out which have chitosan and which don't.
Though the cheaper they are, I'm guessing those contain the chitosan and if you are adverse to crushed critters you'll end up paying a higher price. :)

Wow this thread got big lol..
The patches I use from Avon contain only green tea and wood vinegar.
They come with 6 in a pack because the pack recommends 3 nights of two patches (one on each foot) however these patches can be used anywhere as long as not near cuts or mucus membranes. Dont leave them near pets nor kids under 4.

In answer to the question by Beppa about what would happen if you put them somewhere else:
I have used these pads successfully on swollen lymph nodes (under the arm or other areas) and they have reduced over night. I also had a client with aggressive cancer in the breast and on her arm. She placed the pads over the cancerous area and noticed a softening in the breast and it brought the area on the arm to a pusey head.
I have an ionic foot bath I use now ,but I keep pads on hand for the issues mentioned above.

ACETIC ACID - [a-SEE-tihk] Acetic acid is formed when common airborne bacteria interact with the alcohol present in fermented solutions such as wine, beer or cider. Acetic acid is the constituent that makes vinegar sour.
SORBITOL - Sorbitol, also known as glucitol, is a sugar alcohol the body metabolises slowly. It is an artificial sweetener often used in diet foods. It is called a nutritive sweetener because it has 2.6 calories in every gram verus sugar's 4, just like table sugar and starch. Sorbitol is poorly digested by the body. It is also used as a humectant in some cigarettes.
or
SORBITOL - Classified as a sugar alcohol, sorbitol is both a naturally occurring sugar-like compound found in some fruits, and a compound that is produced to be used as a sweetener, as in diabetic foods, for example. Since it is not easily digested, sorbitol can cause diarrhea in some individuals, especially infants and those eating large quantities of it.
DEXTRIN - Dextrins are a group of carbohydrates produced by the hydrolysis of starch. They have the same general formula as carbohydrates but are of shorter chain length. Industrial production is generally performed by acidic hydrolysis of potato starch. Dextrins are water soluble, white to slightly yellow solids which are optically active. Analytically, dextrins can be detected with iodine solution, giving a red coloration. Cyclical dextrins are known as cyclodextrins.
OR
DEXTRIN - A soluble, gummy substance formed from starch by the action of heat, ferments, etc. having characteristic properties.
CAMELLIA SINENSIS LEAF EXTRACT - Camellia sinensis is the tea plant, the plant species whose leaves and leaf buds are used to produce tea. White tea, green tea, oolong and black tea are all harvested from this species, but are processed differently to attain different levels of oxidation.
TOURMALINE - A complex crystalline silicate occurring usually in three-sided or six-sided prisms terminated by rhombohedral or scalenohedral planes containing aluminum, boron, and other elements. Black tourmaline (schorl) is the most common variety, but there are also other varieties, as the blue (indicolite), red (rubellite), also green, brown, and white. The red and green varieties when transparent are valued as gems.
Just an FYI...

That sounds like a pretty funky list.
despite how grossed out I am by the ingredients on that list, the pads make me feel so refreshed after using them and I am sure I am better off without whatever is being sucked out by them.:o
Personal choice perhaps.

Trinity - I looked up each one of the words. Actually I googled them. I'm one to know what I'm putting in or on my body.
Oh yeah, I'm sure whatever is being pulled out of your body is doing your body well. I'm just posting just because I'm not a huge Avon fan (like I posted before) and this ingredient list isn't too, too awful. There are better foot detox patches out there. But yeah, your body is thanking you for getting rid of those toxins. I had never heard of these before...so thanks for sharing the info...

This seems a little hard to swallow. How do you know they are *pulling out* anything from your feet and it's not just some sort of chemical reaction between whatever is in them and the oil on our feet/body, etc.? Do they back up their claims in any way?
Sorry, skeptic in me is being very loud today.
I don't think it's a hoax.
I know someone who has horses and has a special kind of oil.
If the horses experience certain problems, like muscle aches or swellings,
he uses the oil and some bandage. It pulls out really gross stuff. It kind of hurts as well (the horses aren't to happy about it anyway).
He tried it on himself once, and got a huge blister from it filled with puss/junk. I don't know what the oil is called, but it works the same as the detox patches.
I'm interested in detoxing oils etc. as well, for foot baths (as someone mentioned earlier).
Will have a look around on the internet if I can find something.
Tourmaline detox oil:

Detox bath (with bentonite clay):

And this, because it just sounds nice :), a detox ginger bath:

He didn't state this very clearly. I'm trying to understand.
He says:
"On the first day I tried them, I also enlisted the help of a friend to do the same. The next day, both pads were black, gooey, and dirty looking. After about 25 patches, mine began to lighten until they ultimately were almost white. At this time, I had the same person reapply the pad and the next day, the pad was as black as it had been weeks earlier."
Is he saying they both did it on night #1. Then the friend stopped after the first time, while he (the author) did it for the next 24 nights, then they both used them on night #25?
So the author used them every night the entire time, but the friend only used them the first and last nights, so he (the friend) is the one who had the black pads on the last night?
Assuming thats what he means (i'm still unsure) I don't understand what the point was of that experiment, and having the friend NOT using them during those inbetween days while he (the author) did use them.

I am finished the detox patches and after the 6th patch there really isn't too much coming out. It's still has some junk on them but not as exciting as the 1st and 2nd day but that's good because maybe it means I'm just a little bit healthier now :p

I learned these pads will always turn a dark color when swet and air are mixed in them. People will always have waste in their body to get rid of. You would need to use the pads forever. I suggest getting non-pump powered colonics. When getting colonics for the first time, especily before becoming a complete raw eater, get three of them in a ten day period. It's costly ($225.00 for three) but you'll save money by not buying those pads ($100.00 monthly) possibly for life.

You can just sign up at the gym for 40 bucks a month, and detox your entire lymph system instead of just the feet using their sauna. Don't use the steam sauna though only the dry sauna. Steam sauna is probably hooked up to chlorinated tap water.

hmm, that would be nice going to a hot sauna but it's too drying for my skin condition, psoriasis.
Would a clay poultice foot soak, with your favorite essential oils do the same thing as this pads?
