The recipes are great for people relatively new to raw and they aren't overly complex and hardly any are dehydrated. Right up my alley anyways.

Yes I have and I agree it is really good with a very easy to read format. For those of you who may not know she has posted several of her recipes on youtube.com. Her granola cereal is wonderful as are her puddings - my kids love those!
I have every raw book in print I think (its a sickness I know:o ) and I would strongly recommend this one, especially to newbies. It's great because you would generally have most of the items on hand unlike some other more intensively gourmet uncookbooks. But at the same time great for those of us who have been around raw for awhile as the recipes are quick and easy:) .
Cheers,

I LOVE LOVE LOVE her book! I've made several things out of it-
buckwheat crispies
vanilla mylk
Baja cream cheese
Red pepper and corn salsa
taco nut meat
herb salad dressing
and more...
I think this is a fabulous book- best I've seen, actually. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Hers was the first raw book I bought and I've made quite a few things from it as well. Some of my favorites are the Cashew Coconut Pudding, Coconut Breakfast Cakes with vanilla syrup, Love-the-Chicks Pâté, and Strawberry Kream Swirl. The 2 that I didn't like were the Garlic Walnut Soup and the Taco Nut Meat but that might have just been me. :)

We have it. So far either myself, or my oldest child (11) has made:
Cherry Malt
Carob Almond Decadence (we used cacao)
Cashew Coconut Pudding that was used in the Fruit Parfait
Coconut Breakfast Cakes
Vanilla Syrup
Olive Butter
Sun-Dried Tomato Catsup
Hot Mustard Sauce (we didn't like that one)
Black Sesame Sunflower Bread
Sun Burgers
and for the pooch:
Kanga's Favorite Pate
Kanga's Dog Treats
Out of 12, I made six, my son made the other six. So the book is VERY usable.
HTH!:D

I really like this cookbook. I just got it too. The recipes are very simple and most don't require a dehydrator. Today I made the burgers, sesame bread and tomato catsup. All yummy. Took maybe 1/2 hour to make all 3. I've also made the miso soup (used 1/4 of the called for oil) - one of the best miso soup recipes I've tried. I've also made the donut holes, brocolli brazil mash and the portobello steaks. All good.++

I love her book too....her videos on youtube are super! I gift her book and Revvell's smoozie book to people who are interested in going organic or want to dip their toe in the water a bit into eating more plant foods.

I just ordered her book a few minutes ago.
How did the burgers and sesame bread taste? Did they require dehydrating?

I have this book also. I have made the Donut Holes (to live for) They taste just like the old fashioned crumb donuts & a lot like pineapple upside down cake. Yummo!!! I am going to make the Corn Chowder tomorrow for lunch. It looks so good. I also want to make the Miso soup. I'll let you know how the chowder comes out!

The burgers and bread are good. The bread is sort of a like a flax cracker but thicker and more moist. It only took about 4 hours to dehydrate. The burgers taste a little like the bell pepper in them to me. Is says you don't have to dehydrate, but it took 6 or 7 hours to get them to the point of still being soft and moist but more solid. I just ate a burger on a piece of the bread for brekafast. I just wish I had time to put catsup on it before I left for work.

Do yours look like the pictures when you make them? I've made them several times, and they DO NOT resemble hers AT ALL!!!

well, they resemble hers, but they don't look quite as smooth. i'm sure they would if i could get my flaxseed completely ground but it usually ends up a little chunky.

Cindy,
Yum miso soup. Thinking miso soup would be great for my acid reflux problem. I remember the macro days and loved it to the max with wakame too. I assume water is gently heated? Maybe I can see about our library getting this precious book as I did Alissa's they ordered. Thanks.

I love the whole tone of the book too. Its very down to earth and she doesn't bash people if they dont want to be 100 percent raw right away. Its def the type of book that i can see more "mainstream" people opening up and being drawn into the world of raw foods and thats a good thing. Ani seems like such a loving, peaceful, down to earth person who wants to help other people in their health journey's no matter where they are at without telling them their not good enough.

Carolg,
I actually didn't even bother to warm mine, but you can heat it on low and just use your finger to make sure it's not too warm. The mushrooms in it were great. I also added shredded carrot.

Cindy,
Thanks. I did make a miso soup other night when I felt this acid reflux or perhaps bad combinations kicking in. I used grated diakon, fresh, carrots, onion, miso and it was absolutely delish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I started back to my barley power 3x day, to neutralize system besides cutting way back on fruits. Maybe the sugar from lots of natural fruits kicked me into an acid condition. I also included daily green smoothies. So far so good. Other night tried some digestive enz., veg. cap, and threw it up. Back to the health food store for returning that.
Off to make another batch for me right now. Thank God for my fabulous Cuisinart FP, purchased extra blades for different things, that does grating and takes care of all my veggie slicing needs fast!
I just bought a bunch of portob. Is this mushroom you use?

Bummer about the enzymes. I think I took enzymedica brand. Not sure anymore. Keep sticking with the green smoothies - I think those should help a lot. Have you tried blended salads? Same type of thing, but with veggies...so maybe won't both you as much.
I used shitake mushrooms. I'm sure portobellos would be great too. I am just in love with shitakes though. :)
