I know that celery is soo good for you but I really do not like it at all -- and I want to start putting it in my green smoothies but make it so that I cannot taste it. any suggestions on what to put in the smoothie with the celery so that I wont taste it??

BANANAS! they cover up the taste of just about anything, in my opinion. :)

I've tried celery in smoothies, but it's TOO SALTY! I can't offer any advice, except....chop it into salad...haha

Pineapple-I love the combination of pineapple and celery. All I put in the blender is a big chunk of pineapple a stalk or two of celery, some ice cubes and water-blend and drink-by far one of my favoirte raw drinks!

I like banana-peach-celery smoothies. The celery flavor does stand out, but perhaps add some dates or something to counter the saltiness of the celery.

With banana and pineapple, I never taste the celery.
Also, you could make Alissa's Mock Tuna Salad with it. YUM!

I made the mock tuna salad the other day for the first time and loved it. I put spoonfuls on top of my green salad - it's very good.

It really is!
I avoided it for so long because I don't like fish. But when I finally caved and made it, it reminds me mostly of chicken salad. It doesn't taste fishy to me at all. :)

apple, beet, carrot, ginger, celery in the vitamix.
Also you could try waldorf salads, chopped apples, soaked walnuts and chopped celery, with a nice raw mayonnaise with a lemonish flavor to it. That helps me go through celery.

I like to put celery in my green smoothies with bananas and frozen blueberries.
I also love to juice it with some carrots too.
Celery adds a nice natural salty flavor to recipes. I use it in smoothies and juices (lemon usually covers up the taste in juices), pates, nut burgers, sun burgers, no-meat loafs, mock toona, etc. Once its blended into a recipe I dont notice the celery taste.

The deeper the color celery the more bitter and salty it seems to taste. I find I lie the whiter colored celery. Those less nutritious (still good though!) it's much sweeter in my opinion and tender.

If you must insist on celery, try juicing it with grapes and carrots. The restaurant I worked for a few years ago sold this combination, and I liked it back then not even knowing what a raw foodist was.
Of course, there are plenty of other varieties of green veg that are good for you, too. Find one you like.

I love celery and banana smoothies. I don't like plain celery but I love the celery taste in these.
Also soup made from carrots, tomatoes, onions, garlic, celery, lettuce, and some herbs/greens. I don't think you can taste the celery.
I love Cindys Mock Tuna Salad http://www.living-foods.com/recipes/mocktuna.html

Its also good ground into tiny piece in the food processor, in the Chillie recipe that was posted on this forum.

I also put it in my smoothies with bananas and frozen blueberries, yum! And if I want it a bit sweeter and to keep from tasting the celery as much I also add a few dates. I usually put in some romaine too, it is mild and I don't notice it in smoothies anyway.
I love it juiced with carrots and apples, very good!

I like celery / parsley juice. When you get the right ratio the drink is very good.

I do celery and plums....or celery and peaches......or celery and grapes.....or celery and apples. All very tasty! Just make sure you add enough fruit if you don't like the celery taste.

According to David Wolfe in "Eating For Beauty" the natural sodium in celery juice is needed to build up hydrochloric acid. The hyrdochloric acid breaks down the fiber in other fruits and vegetables, which is very necessary to completely digest them.
Just this morning I made this green juice and it was suprisingly yummy!
1 organic yellow/golden apple
2 large handfuls organic baby spinache leaves
3 stalks organic celery
18 organic, peeled baby carrots
It was sweet and lightly salty, very delish!
p.s. See pages 26-28 if you have "Eating For Beauty"
