I've been craving watermelon lately ... I have been eating it every day, almost exclusively. In fact, I have to force myself to eat something else.

Anyone have any thoughts on that? What might my body be craving (or deficient in) that would cause this watermelon frenzy?

Thanks

David Wolfe believes the watermelon is one of the most perfect foods.

As for why it's what you want .. no idea, just go with the flow. :)

Oh I LOVE watermelon. I say, don't question it....just enjoy nature's bounty. Especially while it's in season. I have to concur with David Wolfe: they're perfect!

I know what you mean, I've been craving watermelon for a month or more. I eat it icy cold & it's just so good on these hot August days! I eat about 8 to 10 cups a day! :D

I've always loved them but never so much as I have lately.. i'm not sure what the watermelon frenzy is with everyone right now!

Thanks for the comments everyone ...lets me know I'm not going crazy here. I finished off the last watermelon in the fridge ... and am wishing I would have gone out before the stores closed and bought another [sigh]. I'll be there tomorrow at 7am so I can have it for breakfast! :)

Another watermelon freak here, LOL!

I bought 7 watermelon (huge) last week. ONe for each day. I am the only one eating it. I eat one entire watermelon a day. My journal tells of it. It's all I am really craving, it's werid. However, if it's natures perfect food, it's ok. Pass the watermelon. Now I am going to the fridge to have some. YOU all got me hungry again.

This reminds me, I have to go shopping for watermelon before the season goes and so the delish melons!!

We've been buying and eating the seedless watermelons. What does everyone think about those?

I don't like picking out seeds, so I buy the seedless ones.

You are doing "intuitive" eating. Your body needs certain nutrients and it is telling you that the watermelon has them. This is a very good thing.

Green Life - just wondering, do you chew up the seeds or swallow them whole? Do you eat both the black and white seeds?

How is it that sometimes a seedless watermelon will have the oddest black seed as if it was meant to be full of seeds.. lol.. how does that work? lmao..

sorry.. random, I know. I'm pondering.. it's good for brain cells. :D

I'm sorry I haven't replied back to you. I forgot about this thread I've been so busy.

Anyway, I blend the seeds and watermelon into the blender with some lemon juice and stevia. The stevia in powdered form makes the drink very sweet and fluffy. I don't bother takeing out the seeds because my vita Mix is very good at blending them up into liquid.

I rather like to chew on the seeds, too. To me, they are added protein and I have never liked to waste anything. I have been doing this for 30 years and haven't grown a watermelon in my belly yet!:D
