young coconuts...huh?

Is it just me or is there just a tiny bit of coconut meat compared to the size of the shell? Is that normal or did I get a bum coconut? It tastes really good and is very tender. I see all kinds of possibilities but that was alot of work getting into it for so little coconut, lots of milk though. any thoughts would be great:)

You can generally expect 1-2 cups of water and about 1/2 cup of meat per coconut. That is general. I have gotten a little over 2 cups of water and almost 1 cup of meat before. Some have had hardly any meat.

They are delicious though, aren't they. I am out. :( Gotta swing by the Asian market or I might start having Chocolate Banana Milkshake withdrawals:eek:

Would you mind sharing your recipe for that with me...I assume there is coconut in there and bananas...but I havent made anything with chocolate flavour yet...that would be lovely!

I love young coconuts. I can't wait until the grocery store restocks them. They were out last night. :( I wonder if someone else in this town has gone raw or something?
