We're going to be staying at a B&B in Asheville, NC over labor day weekend, and I've told them that I prefer a plate of fresh fruits for breakfast, and gave them a long list of fruits as an example. They said they will make a note of it. So, I'm hoping I'll get something fresh and good. I would like to hear others experience at a B&B and eating raw. :)

I've no experience but my aunty has a B&B and one of the breakfasts on her menu is a fancy fresh fruit salad chopped on a plate with yogurt next to it. Your request shouldn't be a problem :)

I've not had the pleasure but I wanted to recommend a restaurant for you to try while you are in Asheville. It's the Laughing Seed (http://www.laughingseed.com/index.php?page=1). I ate there the last time I visited my brother. Very good food but call ahead to make sure they have something raw on the menu for when you are coming. I found out that especially for lunch, they have a more limited menu. But, they did manage to pull something together for me that was delicious -- I just didn't get to sample what I had hoped to. Anyway, very good food.
Oh, and Asheville is definitely the counterculture to the rest of North Carolina so I'm sure your B&B will do just fine by you! ;)
