Hi everyone,
My name is Crystal. I'm 44 years young, from San Francisco and I'm just beginning the Raw lifestyle. I've been a vegetarian/vegan for 20+ years and so it's a natural progression. But the true catalyst was that I was involved in a horrific motorcycle accident a couple of years ago and my recovery from this process has prompted major lifestyle changes. Being dependent on pain medication and having multiple restorative leg operations sucked, but now I know how strong I am. Seeing first hand what takes place in hospitals really has woken me up to the importance of taking my health in my own hands and I see the Raw lifestyle as the best option for this. I could tell you stories, lol. I finally had all of my friends bring me meals because food was making me sicker than I already was! Anyway, as I learn more about truly eating well and nutrition, I realize I wasn't always making great food choices even as a "vegetarian"; there was still a lot of processed food in my diet and I was pretty acidic. Especially in my 20's I was definately a junk food vegetarian! hahahaa.

Recently, I completed 40 days on the Master Cleanser which really cleared out all of the toxic debris from my surgery ordeal and also the years of gunk that was in my body. My body is so happy and I feel great! Now I only want to eat whole, living foods. I can literally smell toxins in overly processed foods now.

I just found this forum and joined it to share with kindred souls who are also hip to this lifestyle. Thanks for listening to my story and have a great day!

Peace,
Crystal

Hey Crystal - welcome! So sorry to hear of your accident and your hospital stay and all - that pretty much stinks, BUT if it brought you around to this raw journey - then it was meant to be.
I too have been Vegetarian for 26 years, Vegan for 2 and now Raw for 1. You can read how I healed myself of two devastating illnesses in less then a year. (See my signature below).
This place is amazing! I've learned so much! You will too. And it will be an easier transition for you having been vegetarian for so long.
Welcome again and any questions you have, please ask away. It's how we all learn.
OH - do you have Alissa's book and DVD? Powerful tools to help one on their raw journey.
Best of luck to you!

I'm a biker chick and I say don't let him get one!! LOL. Just because of my leg ordeal I don't think I'll be riding again. I will find some other adrenaline rush activity. ;)

You know you're absolutely right, the trauma I endured brought me to where I am today with changing my lifestyle completely. We know intutively that everything is in divine order, but when you're going through an especially rough time you sure do forget this sometimes! I'm stronger for what I experienced -- it has brought me more insight, I'm more compassionate and life is much sweeter. I have no regrets about the accident and I'm doing great. I have some other raw food resources, but I will check out Alissa's book and DVD. I'm also thinking about taking a raw food prep class when I locate one in my area. Thanks again for saying hello...I look forward to reading your story and glad you're doing well now and that you healed yourself. :) That's incredible.

Aloha Starfire, wow, you've been through a lot also and you know what this feels like! It's sometimes difficult to explain to someone who hasn't experienced severe trauma. It's so nice to be where I am today! The MC and raw food lifestyle is such a gift. Thank you so much for your well wishes. I'm glad you're doing well also. Are you still riding?

Crystal
