Thank you very much I just when down there and read that helped me out a lot
but what I am still not sure about is
when you say add an orange or something like that do I throw the hole orange in the blender with the Rhine peel on it
or do I take the Rhine peel off and also do I have to take the seeds out or are the seeds not going to mess up the blender what do I do to prep

Peel the orange. You can leave the seeds in. You should buy raw spinach. You can find it by lettuce in the produce section.

thank you
I am going to do my firsat attempt at this today when the blender gets here
and hope that it doesn't taste to bad at first
I am going to use either strawberries or an orange or both
but also love lemons so wondering what would happen if I added 1/4 a lemon if it would just taste awfull LOL

ross.g - any raw leafy greens from the produce section will work for a green smoothie. some have a milder taste than others.
mild - (so you can use more at first than the stronger ones)
red leaf lettuce
green leaf lettuce
romaine lettuce
spinach
green tops from carrots
stronger tasting - (use less at first until you get used to different flavors and what you like)
collard greens
mustard greens (quite peppery)
beet greens
kale (yum!)
green tops from radishes (also peppery)
bottom line is try different things in small amounts. if you like one, make more. if you don't, not a big loss.
green smoothie making is very individual and there really is no wrong way to do it as long as the ingredients are raw (from the produce section of the store). get organic if at all possible and can afford it.
just blend some fruits you like with about as many milder tasting greens (use less of the stronger ones - start out with maybe two or three leaves), add some water and blend away. if you like them thinner, add more water. if you like them thicker, add less.
strawberry and orange are great fruits to use. so are bananas, mangos, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, grapes, watermelon, honeydew melon (take the seeds out), canteloupe (take the seeds of these, too).
as for lemons, try it with lemon juice first. if you like it in there, go ahead and add 1/4 of a whole, peeled lemon.
have fun!

And keep it simple. The more stuff you put in there, the worse it will taste (in my experience). :)

I just blend up the greens with a little water and then start slowly adding the frozen fruit. ~ Cathy
What kind blender do you have? If it's a Vita then put it on in there and give it a go. I find that most Greens can be broken down whole in a normal store bought blender as is. Just put the leaves right in. Vita's do the best disappearing act though.
