Hi all!
I'm on my 3rd day on the mc and I was just wondering if chewing sugar free gum or mints okay while on the master cleanse?
And will the salt water cause weight gain or interfere with weight loss? If the laxative tea at night is working is the salt water flush neccesary? I don't like to consume too much salt because of water retention, but condering this kind of fast will it not be a problem??
Thanks:)

I had this same question and all the info I could find point to NO! Chewing gum/eating mints is said to stir up digestive enzymes in preparation for digestion which defeats the purpose of a resting digestive system.
I've also heard that even tasting things (fresh fruit/veggie juice) also sends the same signal to prepare for digestion, so I'm confused on that too,
Anyone have a clue?
Thanks!

In my book chewing gum is a no-no in any scenario (since going raw anyway) - its full of artificial whatsits, not my thing :)

I would stay away from the gum and mints just because for me I would be more likely to snack on something if I am putting something in my mouth.
As much as I don't like the SWF I believe it is very important to use it to clean yourself out every day. I have missed it a few times because of work scheduling and have to admitt it is cleaning out the pipes more than the laxitive is.
I'm more than half way to my goal of 40 days and I would reccomend you just follow the program to the letter and not deviate and just see what happens for you.
