I just came back from a week at a Teen Girls camp where I was one of the Cabin Leaders and survived a week on raw food.

So the week prior I made a week's worth of Raw meals for me, my mom and sister who would also be going. For breakfast I usually had a Spirulina shake with fruit or fruit salad chopped up or raw oatmeal with raisins, lunch was usually salad or a nori wrap with a fruit roll up or nuts and dates, dinner was either the salad, nori wrap or crackers with a spread, and then a fruit for dessert or fudge balls or raw energy balls. The thing was my sister did all the meal prep for me which made it easy. So I got to thinking how could I do this if I had to make the meals myself?

As a Cabin Leader I'm with the kids all the time but there is always another leader so I could leave for a little bit to prep some things but I'd like things that are just grab and go but still meet my needs. Any ideas out there?

I thought Spirulina health bars would be one idea, and the raw oatmeal soaked the night before with a banana and agave would work, also the nori wraps dont take much prep time either. I would just ask the kitchen for some fridge space and could go in and get things as I need.

I'd love some other thoughts on this as I plan to go up again next year.

It seems like your sister had it very well figured out. For the foods that you listed, most of the prep happens before you leave home. I don't know how she made it all in a way that lasted a whole week though. Did she go to the store during the week or something? You would also need a pretty big cooler and replenishments of ice to keep it cool. Are spirulina shakes made with powder in a shaker cup? You could prepare a large container of cut up fruit, a couple of large containers of salad, a container of fudge balls, a container of raw energy balls, a package of nori, and a couple of containers of different kinds of pate. You would also probably like a few avocados and/or flax seed crackers and some nice dressings to add to your salads. It's definitely do-able, and if you spent the time making and packaging all this stuff before you left, your time preparing it before you eat would be very minimal. Best of luck to you!! I really appreciate that you asked this question, you have given me some great ideas for traveling next week!!
