I stumbled onto this site this morning. I had just finished reading a book by Aajonus Vonderplanitz entitled We Want to Live (The Primal Diet). Aajonus advocates heavy consumption of raw fats (raw milk, raw cheese, raw butter) and raw meats. I suppose that may be blasphemous here as this is a vegan sight? Anyway, I am convinced that a raw diet is the path I need to go down, but I'm not sure exactly what that is going to look like.

The primary reason (I know it's vain) I'm seeking a change is that I am not satisfied with my skin. I have had a mild case of Rosacea for years and have tried just about everything. I guess my self-esteem isn't high enough to overcome it at this point (I'm working on that too). I'm a performing musician and recently separated from my wife of 10 years, so I'm kind of forced to be "out there" right now. It would help tons if I felt better about my skin.

I am wondering if there are any rosacea sufferers out there that can share what they have found to be beneficial in the raw food world.

Hello!!! Welcome!

Yes, this site is a raw vegan site, but there are a lot of people here who will say your way of eating is entirely up to you!

Just try the raw vegan way for the 30-day challenge. You won't believe the difference. I've had such incredible results, and so have many of the people on this rawesome board. Try looking for Morn, she has photos and is one of the most inspirational people I know.

Welcome! I know that the rosacea has been addressed here before and I hope that the Search function will yield satisfactory results for you. There is a forum dedicated the Ajonus Vonderplanitz style of eating. I think it is supposed to be listed in his book. A search of paleo diet or Vinny Pinto should help you find it if that is where you need to be.

I will have to say however that I watched that forum for awhile and one of its members proudly announced that he had got himself a whole cow that had been grass fed or something. Suddenly he was posting all these questions asking how do you eat this? and complaining how tough it was. I am sorry but it was just too funny to me.

Besides the fact that I have never had a strong craving for meat - I could only find a few people supporting that diet and they were all quoting Aajonus Vonderplanitz. This raw vegan style of eating has plenty more people practicing and researching and advocating which in my book says alot.
