Are there any dressings that some of you use that aren't olive oil and/or apple cider vinegar based? I am not a big fan of the ranch dressings floating around and I am lookingfor something w/out a vinegar or olive oil base. Thanks for your help. :p

Here is a dressing that has a little bit of olive oil, but it isn't really necessary :)

this one is over the top. if you don't use condiments, i've found i could successfully replace the flavor with plain turmeric - just add slowly til the flavor is right for you. i also have found raw kalamata olives - way yummie in here. also yummy as a "binder" for sprout, nut or veggie raw burgers. divine.

you can also change up the basil to suit whatever. sage goes very well, as does cilantro, rosemary, whatever. depends on the results you want.

Mariel's Amazing Salad Dressing Recipe courtesy Mariel Hemingway

4 cups fresh organic spinach, washed and dried
1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
Pinch organic sweetener (recommended: Stevia)
1/2 cup yellow mustard
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup olive oil
10 kalamata olives, pitted

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to use. Mixture can be used as salad dressing or marinade.
