View Full Version : Raw Garlic - Hard to Digest

I've been continuing my Raw journey and the one roadblock I keep running into is raw garlic. I'm having a trouble digesting it when it's in a recipe. I made a corn soup out of Ani Phyo's book and the garlic upset my stomach. Today I did a raw Baba Ganush from a goneraw.com recipe and again the garlic made my stomach feel less then great.

Any advice on how to either mitigate the effects of raw garlic on a touchy stomach or ways to prepare it that lessens the undesirable effect?

How about taking an enzyme with it?

It upsets my stomach, too. I have always loved garlic but never really ate it raw until this journey. I usually do okay if I cut back on the amount in the recipe.

I can't eat it raw. I guess you could try marinating it, although I don't know what you'd marinate it in, but it made me so sick raw in the past that I'd rather not try it again.
