Hey everyone! I thought I'd pass on one of our favorite recipies:
2 cups pecans
1 cup dried apricots (soaked for at least 2 hours)
1 cup raisins (soaked for at least 2 hours)
1 Tablespoon honey
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup water
Throw everything into the food processor (you can do nuts first if you want, we like our bread a bit chunky) except 1/2 cup of the soaked raisins and blend until dough like
Mix remaining raisins in by hand
Form into loaf and dehydrate for 4 hours then flip and dehydrate for 12. Bread should come out chewy and delicious!!
I usually start mine a few hours before bed so we have warm bread in the morning for breakfast. The bread ususally lasts about 10 minutes! :D
Hope you enjoy!!

ahhhh man! Something else to add to the list. There's a recipe in alissa's book too. I don't know how the two compare. I was going to make the banana bread first, but your recipe looks really good!!! Thanks for sharing it.

I can't wait to try it. What size loaf works best? I don't want to make it too thick or thin.

I made this yesterday and got it straight from the dehydrator this morning. It's truly yummy. Thank's for the recipe, it's gone in my 'tried and enjoyed' folder.

Glad you enjoyed! I don't make the loaf too thick, but we don't want crunchy bread either. Maybe 1"???

Yummy! I am always looking for new bread recipes especially without grains. I made up the bread last night thin and thick.
I added a bit of ground flax and some extra nuts along with the peacans as I did not have enough - walnuts and almonds. I also only had a bag of mixed dried fruit and currents instead but it all worked out well.
When I came down this morning my daughter had already helped herself to a two slices and was raving about how good it was. I am thrilled as so many of our breads are a bit too flaxy for my taste and smooth where as yours is nice and chunky.
Well done and thanks. I have included pictures. This morning the 7 yr old had slices with just honey and the 3 yr old had mini nut butter sandwiches.:p

I just took my first batch out this morning, it is sooo good. I think that this receipe will make a nice base for other breads/muffins/cakes. Next time I am going to try and make "morning glory" bread by adding carrots, coconut and pineapple. Of corse it is excellent on its own and very easy to make. Thanks for sharing!

Please, where do you find dried apricots without sulfur, and raw?
May I use just fresh apricots instead?
thanks for this recipie. It sounds so delicious.

I am so glad you are all enjoying the recipe! It sounds like there are some great alternatives too HOORAY! I make my own apricots with the dehydrator but I am also able to buy them at our local co-op without sulfur. I've not tried them with fresh apricots so hey, give it a whirl and let us know how it is!
WHOOPI! I am so glad everyone is enjoying the bread :D

Raw, organic pecans are soooo expensive. If I used raw, organic walnuts instead of the pecans would that work? They are both "softer" nuts, so I would think so, but I would appreciate input. Thanks!

But I am sorry I still have not dehydrate yet. I heard Alissa and Revvell say that they seldom use dehydrate. May the LORD bless your food and you.

It is delicious regardless of whether or not you dehydrate it. We just prefer it warm out of the "oven" ;) If we didn't dehydrate it, it wouldn't even make it to the plate! :D
