Hubby wants something that's the taste and consistency of a V8. Any ideas? I tried a search, but I think it's a little vague, because I got a lot of results with nothing exactly like this. And he wants it soon!!! Thank you!!! :)

Not the consistency but I find it to be close in flavor
I juice tomatoes, a couple stalks of celery, a few small carrots, half of a bell pepper, add sea salt, fresh ground pepper and a lil tabasco

When I was on my juice fast I made a V8 type of concotion without realizing it. It consisted of:
1 large tomato
1/4 red or yellow bell pepper
2 medium carrots
1/2 radish
1 slice of beet (i was actually using 1/2-1 tiny beet so i'm not sure how equivilent that is)
1 slice of onion
1/4 garlic clove (unless you like more!)
1/4 cucumber
1/2 romaine lettuce head
That makes about 2 cups worth of juice or a little more.
To make it the consistency of V8 then I'd blend this juice with another tomato or two or even a bit of avocado. If you don't have a juicer I guess all of these ingredients could blend well too. Maybe add some sea salt, pepper, or other spices of your preference.

I've never had V8 but there was another bought vegetable cocktail I used to love so I looked at the ingredients then tried to imitate it.
Juice tomatoes, carrots, beetroot, cabbage, onion, cauliflower, green beans, celeriac, red pepper and lemon juice. Add sea salt and leave to ferment for a few days.
Mix 1 glass of that with 1 glass of fresh tomato and carrot juice.

I notice you said smoothie so I wondered if you might not have a juicer - if that is the case you could blend the veggies mentioned above with a bit of avocado to give it a better texture.

I frequently make a tomato / greens smoothie thats quick and easy:
+) enough water to cover the Vitamix blades
+) 1 average size tomato
+) Some greens to taste
+) 6 to 10 ice cubes
