I read some excerpts from N. Rose book that recommends taking a test to see which level of raw you can be on and that proceeding too quickly with raw can do harm rather than good. I know Alissa recommends doing 100% off the bat if you can as even a portion of cooked can keep you addicted. What I am wondering is how can 100% be bad for you? I know about the detox, etc. but any other ideas? I tried doing one cooked meal and it was ok for me but I truly never detoxed like I do with 100% (even though I feel worse at 100% at first I think it is because I have alot of toxic junk in me) but anyway... I think for me, if I still keep a bit of cooked I 'want' to keep the cooked, make sense??? ANy ideas? I don't want to make things worse for me, I have enough pain and problems as is. But I also have the personality of all or nothing syndrome. I'll stop babbling for now... thanks for any input.

Whatever works for you. For me personally, I found it easier to maintain raw only after going 100%. because of how addictive SAD/crap is. Also figured it was better to go through detox in one fell swoop rather than have it be a long dragged out process. JMYO ~ Cathy

I have been a "health nut" for a lot of years and tried a lot of different approaches to good health but the best results I have ever gotten is with RAW foods. I think that the more raw you can go the better as long as it isn't causing you problems or discomfort that you are uncomfortable with.

i think different things work for different people, although personally transitioning worked so much better for me! but then again, you'll hear plenty of stories of people going all raw overnight and thats what worked for them. i am a huge fan of natalia rose's books, my diet wouldnt be nearly what it is (very high raw) without her program.

going 100% raw has been the best for me! I think its personal as mentioned, do what you feel best :)

I've read that those that are SEVERELY toxic and have cancer should go vegan first with whole foods before they go raw so their system doesn't become overwhelmed. I am one that believes 100% is best, but this method may be necessary for those with certain severity of cancers.

If you start at a slow pace........and you are in for the long haul......you can always speed up later....if the going is easy. If you sprint out of the gate....and then stop....then your out of the race! Make it easy on yourself.....

Thats good sound thinking. Set-backs like falling off the program or injury from a too aggressive exercise program can either put a person out of the game or really kink their style. I agree with you that an approach thats in it for the long haul has a better chance of success.

Every system is different. For a lot of people it seems that going slow helps them the most. Going straight into 100% works for me. Right now I'm not 100% because I'm having herbal teas to help get rid of a cold, but my body LOVES 100% :D

I've heard that a cold may be an effort by the body to detox. Maybe your detoxing as a result of going raw ?

Heya EZ... My cold is the side-effect of flying to Wisconsin in a closed-in winged petri dish :D

I am going off the teas Monday though, so hopefully my body will detox everything. Thanks! :)
