In another thread about getting rid of bloat they mention

You should be able to use the search function and find some threads on it here.
It is a way of swishing oil around in your mouth and pulling toxicity out. It also helps your teeth feel so clean that you might forget to brush.
I would recommend that you google it however because there are some precautions that you need to take. For example some oils have been shown to be more beneficial than others. I forget the times but you have to wait a long while after eating and a different amount of time after drinking to do it. And there is a smaller amount of time that you must do it prior to eating. It got too difficult for me to remember all that so when I did do it - it was only twice a day.
I would like to get back to it. I believe that it is very beneficial preventative medicine and some people on here said their teeth got whiter.
Oil pulling is a kind of detoxing means. You swish a table spoon of sesame or sunflower oil around in your mouth for about 15 to 20 minutes, and that pulls out all kinds of toxins from your body. Then you spit it out. Nothing weird or anything.
Getting rid of toxins can do all kinds of wonderful things for you, like healing from certain illnesses, better teeth and gums etc. I discovered it a week ago on this board and am now doing it to help speed up my detox, plus I'd really love it if my teeth became whiter and stronger. I've experienced that it dóes help with detoxing, but it's too soon to say yet what effects it will going to have in the long term (only been doing it a couple of days).

There's also an 'Oil Pulling Challenge' thread on this board, and some people have noticed better skin, whiter teeth, healing teeth and gums, better sleep and better bowel movement... Check it out and feel free to join the ride: http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=29691
You'll never know if it will work for you, unless you haven't tried.
But it takes some patience though, don't expect to get rid of all your toxins and symptoms after just one time.
